Sister, can you buy a chocolate bar for me too? Not because I felt hurt by you but because I like the gesture of putting smiles on the faces of little children... where I live, it isn't that easy to hand out candy to kids unless it is a special 'holiday' and even then, parents are cautious and suspicious.

Please throw in a chocolate bar for me... in fact, I'd appreciate it if you would do so once a month until August (or longer ). I am growing some tomato plants here. When the fruits ripen (insha'Allah by late August, early September), I plan to give a portion of the fruits to International Muslim university students at our small university here... I'd like to exchange sadaqa by donating the fruit of 1 plant for you. Would that work for you? Not that we have to do an exchange, it's just nice to know that we can help each other reach others far away with small gestures.

Putting a smile on people's faces is a way to please Allah if done with the correct intention.

Maybe the child who receives it needs that kindness and Allah (SWT) delivers Hope through a small chocolate bar. We don't know, only Allah (SWT) knows. Maybe the child is at a breaking point and that little bar of chocolate takes his spirits out of the dark. We don't know, only Allah (SWT).

It is His Mercy and Kindness and the smile is an acknowledgment of that. What can be more beautiful than a smile for Allah's (SWT) sake?

good gesture . To make another muslim smile is sadqah,to bring happiness to another Muslim is sadqah.

I think its more than just pleasing a child (not that is a bad thing). She feels she has hurt someone. Not only come here and apologise, she will willing to give gift on their behalf. A great gesture indeed.

Sometimes for own our spiritual growth we have to go the extra mile. Instead of merely asking for forgiveness, going a step further and give charity on behalf of the people that you've hurt. Also, I've realised perhaps giving charity for people that have hurt you may help your spiritual growth aswell

Yes, I agree.

It is like a domino effect of good: Allah (SWT) opens a person's heart to humility; the person is then able to step outside of themselves, is humbled and seeks forgiveness from Allah (SWT); the person then seeks forgiveness from the person who may have been hurt; the person who was (or may have been) wronged receives an apology and an opportunity to exercise forgiveness; chocolate bars are purchased as sadaqa and the money paid for them serves the shop-owner and their family; the chocolate bars are then distributed as sadaqa and bring joy to some children; by the Grace and Mercy of Allah (SWT), the person who was humbled receives the children's smiles... who knows, only Allah (SWT) knows... perhaps good ripples continue to flow on through the children's joy, to their families etc. etc. SubhanAllah!
