Default Good edition of Mulla Ali al-Qari's sharh on Nuzhah al-Nazr (sharh Nukhbah al-Fikr)
Assalamu alaykum

I am looking for a good edition of Mulla Ali al-Qari's sharh on Nuzhah al-Nazr. It is often referred to as شرح شرح نخبة الفكر (or شرح الشرح). (BTW, does anyone know the actual title he used?)

How is the common Indian print (Qadimi Kutub Khana)? I may have seen a Beiruti Dar al-Arqam print as well. Any information would be appreciated. JazakumAllahu khayran.

Assalamu alaykum

Jazak Allahu khayran. However, I am referring to Mulla Ali al-Qari's sharh on Hafiz Ibn Hajar's sharh (نزهة النظر). See http://albalagh.net/bookstore/?action=view&item=0977

Dar al-Arqam print is quite good.
That is the only print of the book, to the best of my knowledge.
The Pakistani editions are just copies of this one.

Jazakum Allahu khayran for the replies. I believe there is also an edition by Dar al-Qalam, see http://www.fadakbooks.com/shshnual.html - it has an introduction by Shaykh Abd al-Fattah, edited by Nazar Tamim (looks like a copy of Dar al-Arqam?). I may end up getting the Pakistani ed., unless someone here knows any reason to recommend the Dar al-Qalam ed.

Dar al-Arqam is here for anyone looking: http://www.neelwafurat.com/itempage....0&search=books
Qadimi Kutub Khana: http://albalagh.net/bookstore/?action=view&item=0977 and http://www.islamicbookcenter.org/ind...roduct_id=2156

By the way, is this the same work? http://makhtota.ksu.edu.sa/makhtota/7431/1 And is that the correct title?

Dar al-Arqam and Dar al-Qalam of Beirut (not to be confused with the famous Dar al-Qalam of Syria) are one and the same company. The link you provided is to the Dar al-Arqam edition.

Out of curiosity, why do you wish to purchase this particular book? As a next step after studying the Nuzhah or to facilitate understanding the `ibarat of the Nuzhah?

Ah, Jazak Allahu khayran.

Mainly the latter; also, someone told me that it was very useful to have for Ahnaf in terms of mustalah and how our fuqaha' differed on it from the muhaddithin.

Any comments or links on that would be appreciated.

I ended up getting the Dar al-Arqam from fadakbooks (they listed Dar al-Qalam but the one I received only says Dar al-Arqam), as the usual places were out of the Pakistani ed. It''s heftier than I expected, even with relatively thin paper.

Jazakum Allahu khayran.
