Akhi Xtreme layperson is the gender neutral generalization of the old gender specific word layman. Thus it include both man and woman. If layperson is used in case of a woman then it does not mean that it can not be used for a man. The whole problem started when you had woman at a position like Chairman's office but you could not call her the Chairman because she was a woman.
