But if you do not - and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.

And He will teach him writing and wisdom ...

MH, I wish you had elaborated on connection of above Verses to the topic of the present thread.

(To Continue)

Pir Zulfiqar Ahmed Naqshbandi (DB) has narrated the story of a Naqshbandi Shaikh of Palestine who used to do Muraqbah for long periods. Now Muraqbah of hours is a routine in that Silsila but this Shaikh was doing much more than that. He used to keep is face covered. A man insisted upon seeing the face of the Shaikh and the latter obliged. The person could not bear the strength of the noor and he later on expired. This of course reminds one of Hazrat Baqi Billlah (RA) story but that is a different matter.
What is Muraqbah?

Concerning houses..I was once in a empty house and there was a strong aura[noor] there..I was later told that a Muslim family had lived there.Marsha Allah
Excellent thread.

What is Muraqbah?
It is a Sufi term.
Very effectively used by Naqshbandi Order.
The Masha-ikh of that order train their disciples in this technique.
It is a type of struggle (j-h-d).
As in any other mystic exercise it should be practiced in supervision of a Shaikh.
In other Orders of Sufism a different route is taken.
Our elders say that pain and sorrow is the best struggle (j-h-d).

For Muraqbah you first cut off yourself from the physical world - you turn your attention away from it.
This is mental and emotional decision but it is helped and it is necessary in fact to implement some physical
actions also in this regard. Like closing your eyes. Or covering yourself with big hanky. Then you open your inner eye.
Nothing deep about it - it is a mental decision again. Then you consider yourself in the presence of Allah(SWT) and you talk to Him like a slave, preferably focusing on an attribute of His with which you are familiar. And if you are talking to Most Merciful then who am I to tell you what you are talking and what you are feeling? No wonder this talk may go for long times.

Excellent thread. That is what we are talking about.
Thanks for the complement.

A Shaikh(DB) has given a very simple prescription to feel the Noor. Whenever you are feeling uneasy, down, unmotivated or generally low then feel the condition of your heart (qalb). Then perform ablution (wadhu) and again feel the condition of your heart (qalb). You'll find a lot of difference.

aoa,
and the best way to do that is to stick steadfastly to the sunnah of the Rasul (SAW)?
From here:
And certainly the best of His creation is Muhammad (Sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam)

Who came to us with clear proofs and guidance

His messenger to all of the creation

With Nur and guidance and the true Deen.

Again:
من عالم أو طالب مسترشد

From a scholar or student who are seeking guidance.

لرأيت علما و إتباعا صادقا

You will see true knowledge and emulation.

للسنة الغراء دون تردد

Of the shining Sunnah without hesitation.

هم زينة الدنيا مصابيح الهدى

They are the adornment of the world, illuminations of guidance.
