some things that I have heard that could help you could include...

read the Manzil dua which is a collection of protective Surah's everyday in the house...and teach it to children in the house (making them read it daily too)

http://islamicbookslibrary.wordpress...010/06/17/387/

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBbKV...eature=related

http://www.scribd.com/doc/33741447/Manzil-English

encourage everyone in the house to remake their wudhu when they loose it...

if you have one delete bad channels (bad tv programmes can attract evil jinn) from the tv or even better get rid of the tv...

get rid of music recordings (bad music can attract evil jinn) out of the house and replace them with Qur'an and nasheeds...

get rid of any pictures/photos/teddy bears, newspapers and magazines etc to the cupboards - don't have them on display... as Angels of mercy do not like to come in a room with pictures etc in ...

(get rid of realistic children's dolls completely as only a few modernist leaning scholars say that they are halal)

also get rid of any haram music instruments (this includes deleting haram music from cellphones and mp3 players because it turns them into instruments) as they may attract evil Jinn and Angels of mercy don't like them...

close doors and windows at Maghreb and don't leave them open again until Ishaa adhaan, if you have to leave them open because of heat etc...

cover food when leaving the room...and be scrupulous to say the basmalah when cooking and eating...

remember to shake out the bedding before it is used (it is a Sunnah anyway)...

remember the dua to be said when entering the toilet and be scrupulous to recite it...

always remember to make wudhu before you go to sleep, make the dua for before sleeping and sleep in the Sunnah way....

read more Qur'an in your spare time because it will pour nur into your house...

also it is common sense to keep the house clean and tidy because shaitaans like dirt and mess...

I'm sure I have heard several other things too but I cannot remember them at them moment...

To keep the Shayateen away, you should have a person read surah Al-Baqarah in your home, instead of blasting it from your PC. It's better that way.

There's a thread that's around these days of reading surah Al-Baqarah every time you see the thread. Maybe you can ask someone there to read it as isali thawaab for you, too.

To understand better, can Jinn just walk inside a closed house, or does it need an open doors or windows to enter the house?

One point that I remember, enter your house with Salaam and close the door by saying Bismillah.

Just the other night while sleeping, I had a very weird feeling, even though I had recited Aytal Kursi 3 times (mamul), so I started recited last 3 ayats of Surah Baqarah and 4 Kuls, and I sleept even before I finished the 4 quls.

If one has TV or anything playing music, kindly get rid of it as music is the caller of shayateen and shayateen the camps in the houses where music is played. Then there will be more fights in the house and no peace between the family members. Same goes with animate pictures. Allahu alam

wallaahu a'lam.
that is true but Prophet (saws) told us to close doors at maghreb (even if they are a curtain) and generally cover food - both to protect from jinn -

therefore it is obvious that in some circumstances if you leave doors open (i.e. at Maghreb) it allows Jinn to come in that would otherwise have been prevented from coming in by Allah -

I guess the difference is because there are not just one type of jinn or shaitan there are many and they vary in their qualities and abilities - just like there are many types of angels (as) which vary in their functions.

and with the food I think it is related to shaitaans eating from it and polluting it - obviously it is not the cover that stops them in both cases as they can permeate through solid things, it is that Allah does not let them pass the cover as a mercy if we do these things that He has told us.

Jazaak'ALLAH everyone for your help - here is another method to prevent jins and shaytaan from entering house - hang Ayat al Kursi or 4 Quls or Quranic Ayats on walls of every room of your house and also on main gate - it prevents Jinnat from entering

1. Read Surah Baraqah loudly in one sitting once a day. You can distribute parts of the Surah to your family members but it must be completed in one sitting. Try reading in different parts of the house each day. Blow in water after finishing.

2. Read the Manzil and blow over yourself, and over water, once in the morning and once in the evening.

3. Spray the blessed water all over the walls of each room of the house, especially the corners, daily.

4. All family members should only drink from the blessed water as much as possible.

The above is the advice of a believing Jinn encountered recently!

Who encountered and how and what was the discussion?
