asalam o alaykum
i have somew queries about the quran which causes severe doubts and confusions the first is the earth being flat. basically what happened was i came a cross an athiests hompage on youtube who attacks islam and other religions.i was reading his comments and he gave a link to some one of a video where the there were scholars debating with scientists. the scholars were saying that the earth is flat as mentioned in the quran and that the scientist which stated that the earth is round are heretics and going against the quran. i did not watch thew video though. the second thing is i had an argument with an athiest on face book whos whole profile page was devouted to nothing but attacking islam. she also said that the quran says the earth is flat. i saw a comment on youtbe where a person said the quran says the earth is flat like a CARPET. can someone help me on this. 2nd. i came a cross a anti islamics page on youtube, his homepage skin was like a graph paper and in each square there was a drawing of the sun settting in a black pool. his life seemed to be devoted to this. i told him he was owned because dr zakir has stated in a debate with dr williams that the quran states that it APPEARED to hazrat zul qarnayn a.s that the sun set in black water and not that it actually did set in black water. i also read the translation of hazrat maulana ashraf ali thanwis r.a quran where he r.a also stated that it APPEARED to set in black water. the guy on youtube told me he was an arab and that dr zakir lied. this has then brought confusion an doubts as to who is telling the truth. also i saw a comment on youtube where an anti islamic was saying that the quran says that hazrat zul qurnayn a.s had 2 horns. can some shed some light on this as this are causing sever dounts regarding the truth of islam. can some show me proofs as well |

1. Earth is flat problem solved: "He Who has made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels)...." The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 20, Verse 53 Does carpet mean 'flat' ? Carpet takes the shape of the surface below. If the carpet is put on a spherical surface then it takes the shape of the sphere, it doesn't stay flat, does it. No where in the Quran is it mentioned the Earth is flat. Actually the Quran specifically mentions the Earth is egg shaped. The Qur’an mentions the actual shape of the earth in the following verse: "And we have made the earth egg shaped". The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 79, Verse 30. Read more: http://islam.thetruecall.com/modules...rticle&sid=206 http://www.answering-christianity.com/earth_round.htm 2. Sun setting on black pool issue solved: This argument of atheist has been used so much that it makes me yawn. One should know what is the arabic words mentioned in the Quran in that particular Ayah. It is clear that it mentions that it 'appeared' to set in murky water. Its nicely explained here: http://www.letmeturnthetables.com/20...per-quran.html http://www.answering-christianity.co...ise_sunset.htm Its crystal clear that the ayah is like we say 'see the sun is setting behind the mountains'. Atheist are trying to twist and misquote the Ayah of the Quran so much that their desperation is evident. 3. Stop arguing with atheists, as me and you have no formal education in the vast sciences of Islam. just like a high school student is not send for a college debate competition, we should refrain from such 'debates'. 4. Use your intelligence, Is there any other uncorrupted Book like Quran? Is there a man like the Prophet Muhammad ever in the history? 5. Using intelligence and logic results in Faith. Yes Imaan in Allah Ta'ala and his Rasool comes with the outmost intelligence. Do not equate intelligence with education of 'lame' degrees. We often find illiterate people more intelligent than Ph.D holders. 6. Concern yourself with your Ibadah, and the state of your heart, we should be concerned with Akhirah. Be strong brother, get a grip of yourself. Do not listen to the Shaytaan, he is already going to Hell, he wants us to follow his deviated path. Resist, FIGHT Bi idhinillah, with the permission of Allah. For the Sake of our Creator our Master Allah the Almighty. May Allah protect us from such fitna. Ameen. |

brother thanks for the links, i will check them out. i understand that anti islamics have trully amateur levels of understanding of the quran and hadith and they give wrong meanings and interpolations. Brother, don't worry. Recite the Quran often. Its when we do Ibadah that we come closer to Allah Ta'ala. Actions and faith are the two sides of the same coin. Do you pray fajr my dear brother? |

brother thanks for the links, i will check them out. i understand that anti islamics have trully amateur levels of understanding of the quran and hadith and they give wrong meanings and interpolations. Doubt is only caused by lack of knowledge on the issue, so how do we solve that? Learn. However, learning takes time, and we may have more pressing matters at hand. Me for example, I'm still a high school student. I either focus studies on high school or learning more about Islam. I don't bother looking to the "opposite" views of Islam because I don't have time, they're most of the time parrots (by which I mean they repeat the same islamophobic questions which already have answers to them; so I find it odd that they take the time to learn islamophobic things but are willfully blind when it comes to using the same medium of gathering knowledge (internet) to see if the islamophobic questions have answers), and lastly, because I'm simply unqualified. You should really try to resist from looking at the islamophobic view of things and focus on more pertinent issues |

sorry brother i am a 4 times namazi, i am never able to get up for fajar but i read the remaining 4 salats. how trully unfortunate of me. Jundub ibn Sufyan reported that the Messenger of Allah said, "Anyone who prays the Subh(Fajr) prayer is in Allah's keeping. O son of Adam, watch out that Allah does not demand from you anything that is in His keeping." [Muslim] Just keep two or three alarms. Eventually it becomes a routine and you will wake up even before the Alarm . Just be Determined. Come on bro you can do it. Just try, try and try. |
