Verdict on UK riots: people need a 'stake in society', says report
Panel concludes that riots were fuelled by a lack of opportunities for young people, poor parenting and suspicion of the police The Guardian, Wednesday 28 March 2012 http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/ma...?newsfeed=true some of the suggested solutions. To avoid such occurrences in the future it was suggested that:, parents are engaged in initiatives that address the reason for bad parenting schools are fined for excluding children Job opportunities be created Advertising of High brands targeted at children be re-examined by businesses and government The disadvantaged and 'the bumping at the bottom' of society be given opportunities to have their life turned around. The question, is this really the solution and can this really be achieved? Take for example Brands who targetchildren are they really going to agree to such an idea, their purpose is to attract the target market and make profits? |
