Default The Cursed hijab?
I wished to voice my concerns about my sister, sorry if this thread was mentioned else where.

The reason I have bought up this topic is because, many sisters today are wearing the hijab, which is a
positive and may Allah (SWT) reward them for their efforts to fullfil the commands of Allah (swt) as this not an easy transition. And for those who are still struggling may Allah (SWT) make it easier for them to.

I think many of us are aware of the many trends in Hijab styles and video posting of how to don a Hijab for
every occasion. (although this another matter, which does need some attention).

I'm not sure if there are sisters here who wear hijabs and brothers whose wives and sisters perhaps wear
the hijab but with the HUMP. This is becoming a very common site and quite disturbing and I recall a Hadith which i think refers to sister who don the hijab in this way.

It was reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are two types of thepeople of Hell that I have not seen yet: men with whips like the tails of cattle, with which they strike the people, and women who are clothed yet naked, walking with an enticing gait, with something on their heads that
looks like the humps of camels, leaning to one side. They will never enter Paradise or even smell its fragrance, although its fragrance can be detected from such and such a distance.” (Narrated by Ahmad and by Muslim in al-Saheeh).

However this part They will never enter Paradise or even smell its fragrance, although its fragrance can be detected from such and such a distance may just be to instill the fear because
the following surah states:
Verily, Allah forgives not (the sin of) setting up partners (in worship) with Him, but He forgives whom He wills, sins other than that. (Surah An-Nisa' 4: 116)

I believe we are all responsible for helping guide each other, May Allah give us the taufeeq to do this.

How about wearing the hijab, but with a low cut top and skinny jeans?

The hump is created by the sister underneath her head scarf, this is raised at such a length, that it and resembles that of a camel hump. To be be honest these sisters look very odd and I have witnessed they draw attention to themselves, because they look odd and make a mockery of the Hijab. (my view)

The Hadith clearly mentions scanty clothing as well and these predictions are nothing but the truth. Many of our Humped sisters are wearing skinny jeans and others fitting tops, i've yet to see a sister with a hijab and low cut top. However I have seen
many sisters with a very small piece of hijab like a bandanna and low cut tops and skinny jeans and some even wearing knee high boots with knee length skirts!

My sisters what is happening ? We should be proud of our hijabs and follow the rules of Hijab as described by Allah (swt )

And say to the believing women that they should not display their beauty and ornaments, except what appear (face and hand) there of; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their father, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husband's sons, their brothers or their brother's sons or their sisters's sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physeal needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornments......(quran 30-31)

Just to add some sisters will accessorize and add huge earrings etc,but does this verse not mention quite clearly, this must be avoided....And say to the believing women that they should not display their beauty and ornaments.....

I urge my sisters to reflect on themselves and think about the Hijab on their heads, what it means, what it represents, who it is for? May Allah guide us all to correct way, Inshallah.

Seriously, y'all make it hard to stay silent here

Dread-locks and the bee-hive hair trends comes to mind... it doesn't necessarily have to do with Muslim women.

Why is everyone bent on looking to sisters for blame? We don't know who those people with hump-like heads are... for all we know, it may be a trend of a physical change yet to come.

And Allah (SWT) knows best.

Sister these are definitely Muslim women, because only muslim women wear hijab, many appear to be young Asian and Arab
girls. They greet each other with the Islamic greeting, I think they are just a bit confused and need to be guided.

Where as you mentioned trend, Definitely a new trend amongst young muslim girls, I would agree.

I know the style you are referring to and I've met many beautiful (as in reserved and pious) sisters with hijabs that may be deemed "camel humpish." I think it is totally wrong to jump on our sisters like this.

That said, it appears you've misunderstood me. I'm saying the people our Beloved Prophet (SAW) mentioned may not be Muslims... they could be others. They could even be women who dance and have their dreads in a loose knit hat on their heads. I'd prefer to consider this rather than consider a sister whose hair type and length may make her hijab look large.

We don't know.

Only Allah (SWT) knows.

It may mean the sisters who do it deliberately and Allah knows best.

Maybe someone have more info or commentary on this hadith.

Sister I respect your view but the Hadith clearly mentions women. I wonder if your taking this personally because I don't
authentic Hadith should be struck down just because it goes against our own personal beliefs. Nor should the interpretation be misconstrued.

Women should not dress as if to draw attention to themselves. That is the entire point of niqab. When a woman wears her hair in a bun-like, hump-like manner, it shows through the hijab. What is now the point of the hijab? Some sisters have the incorrect idea that hijab means to cover the hair and it does not matter if they wear tight clothing or that their scarf itself is decorated with glitters or other things that attract attention. If sisters want to wear such things, then wear another piece of clothing over them when in public and amongst ghayr mahram. But, if a hairstyle shows through the hijab, then it defeats the purpose of the hijab.

there are thousands like this in northern England

most of them wear tight clothes, garish make-up and high heels too

you cannot miss them, they waddle around on their high heels like geese

most round here are Arabs, but there are also Asians and even sadly there are even Somalis like this too now

they are like a sign of the end times

what would their ancestors think of them?

at least these hump-heads that we are talking about cover their hair though, this surely must be worth something for them InshaAllah

I can never get over the sight of some rich Emirati couples going out for the evening with the husband wearing beautiful traditional Arab clothes and the wives wearing expensive western fashions that show their legs and hair....the husbands covering every part of themselves that the women would have been better if they had been covering.

well bother covering the head is not hijab! Hijab is decent covering of the whole body, sorry i should add that the majority of this sisters humps are exclusive to their fitted clothing from what i have seen.

sorry sister I didn't mean to imply that how they dress was good, I was merely noting that at least they are covering their hair or making some type of statement that they are a Muslim. I am certainly not saying that I think they dress in a halal way.

Thats spot on.
There are so many variations of the Hijab , it varies from culture to culture .
Its understandable for sisters to get confused. They even have Hijab fashionistas .

Many of the Hijab styles defeats the purpose they even do the opposite

To be blunt and true ......

Sisters wearing even full covering Hijabs sometimes do not understand how the male attention for the opposite sex works . How the fabric is tailored inch by inch makes a world of a difference .

You know what I mean ?
