a true sufi is someone who tries to follow the quran and sunnah in every aspect of their life

Sufism = Tasawwuf the science of purifying the heart and the intentions, of making remembrance of Allah constant, of increasing love for Allah and loosing the lusts of the world.

It is nothing more than the developed form of Tazkiyyah un Nafs.

True early Sufis included people like Jafar as Sadiq (ra), Hassan Al Basri (ra), Junaid Baghdadi (ra)

True Sufis included people like Sheikh Abdul Qadir Gilani (ra), Sheikh Ahmad Sirhindi (ra) and Shah Waliullah (ra) etc...

True modern Sufis include people like Zulfiqar Ahmed (db), Ashraf Ali Thanwi (ra) and Asif Hussain Farooqi (db) etc...
