As Salaamu Alaikum I was wondering is it considered bad adab to offer to lead Jumah prayer at your local masjid? Much of the general audiences in a lot of masaajid basically just deal with many khutbahs that are deemed irrelevant because people abuse the khutbah discuss politics and to support their struggle for power in the masjid the elders in the community would almost never consider using other people for the khutbah if I've had some training and can do a proper khutbah should I offer my services?

Not a lot of formal studies just online courses and some classes I've taken locally. Make dua for me I actually intend to spend more time studying Islam formally, I've done Khatib training with a local Imam and have had a little experience. Basically my community is a very under served community most of the Imams are complete volunteers and have little to no formal training If you are the one with more knowledge then go ahead and volunteer. But remember whenever a person gets a position of respect, shaytaan starts poking with kibr, riya etc. Just be careful. May Allah Ta'ala make it easy for you. ameen. |
