I was just reading up on the masail of travel as i need to travel soon. There seems to be a debate on 48 miles beings english or Shari. If shari then it equals 54 miles. Till now i have always heard 48 miles makes you a musafir.

on ask imam it mentions that the Muftis were going to decide on this and a verdict will be given, this was dated 2006. Does any body know of the verdict. I think they were going to be South African Muftis to decide over there if 77km or 88km.

okay 48 shari miles is 54.5 british miles.
