Default Is Gambling on Horses permissible in Islam?
I ask with the Cheltenham horse racing festival, coming up.

Is gambling on horses allowed?

I think it's HARAM, But i'm only asking because the Saudis and the Iranians seem to have found a way around the islamic ruling. Alhumdullila

Its forbidden, and if anyone tells u otherwise hes totally lying to you, if all the world is doing haram that doesnt mean that Allah told them its allowed, only ask real imam or sheikh that doesnt lie to you.

Hope you think about it and never try to gamble, unless you want to pay the consequences on akhira (dooms day)

Like I said it is Haram. But i'm asking what loophole the saudis and iranians are using.

Rather than calling it gambling they call it predicting.

They can "predict" all they want but as soon as money gets involved, it becomes haraam. I have on idea what logic the Saudis are using but I'm not really surprised about the Iranians.

Saudis are using systems to do with charging for entrance fees but then attaching a raffle to go with a horse...............something similar, anyway..............

......Gambling is haram...........................

.............unless you're a saudi millionaire/prince[sarcasm].

Subhanallah

It is no secret that many Saudi princes and many rich Saudis have exempted themselves from Islamic shari'ah. There are accounts of non-Muslims visiting parties hosted by rich Saudis within Saudi Arabia where alcohol is freely served and prostitutes are available for the guests! This happens within Saudi Arabia.

But we cannot say that all or even a majority of Saudis do this. This is the result of money and hedonism corrupting these princes and millionaires.
