Default Day of Judgement: 51% Good Deeds, 49% Bad Deeds
Assalamoo Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Baraktooh,

We hear that on the Day of Judgement if a person's good deeds outweigh their bad deeds they will go to Jannah. This implies that the pass rate is 51%. Is this correct? If so, do we not only have ourselves to blame if we fail, especially when the reward for good deeds is multiplied significantly.

Right, Allah multiplies every good deed by 10, or 70 or 700 or many times over, while a bad deed is only written down as one bad deed. This is because of the mercy of Allah.

This reminds me of a Hadith Qudsi:
On the authority of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), among the sayings he related from his Lord (glorified and exalted be He) is that He said:

"Allah has written down the good deeds and the bad ones." Then He explained it [by saying that] "he who has intended a good deed and has not done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed, but if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as from ten good deeds to seven hundred times, or many times over. But if he has intended a bad deed and has not done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed, but if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down as one bad deed."

[Bukhari and Muslim.]

وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته

It isn't simple arithmetic. What saves us from the hellfire is the mercy of Allah . We can have 0.0001% good deeds and 99.9999% bad deeds, but if we have even a mustard seed worth of imaan, we can be saved from the hellfire through the mercy of Allah . If Allah wills, he can even forgive the entirety of the bad 99.9999% and have our imaan make the scale weighty. Therefore, we should never be in despair but always remain hopeful for the mercy of Allah but at the same time, fearful of the justice of Allah - because if we face His justice on the Day of Judgement, we're most likely going to be on the losing end.

In these two videos there is an extensive explanation of the judgement part of Yawm Al Qiyamah. Its from the here after series of Shaykh Hasan Ali. In the earlier videos he starts from the grave, to resurrection, to judgement. These are the relevant part answering your query. Its a bit long, but its completely worth it.

multiplied so as mentioned above . Learned people say its the
Ikhlas and state of your heart / Imaan .

Have you though why the same act done by different people is valued differently by Allah

All good comes from him and we should always strive hard for the best. Allah wants the best for us too.

Bukhari: Volume 8, Book 76, Number 474
Narrated 'Aisha:
The Prophet said, "Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately, and receive good news because one's good deeds will not make him enter Paradise." They asked, "Even you, O Allah's Apostle?" He said, "Even I, unless and until Allah bestows His pardon and Mercy on me."

Muslim :: Book 39 : Hadith 6770
A'isha, the wife of Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him), reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) used to say: Observe moderation (in doing deeds), and if yciu fail to observe it perfectly, try to do as much as you can do (to live up to this ideal of moderation) and be happy for none would be able to get into Paradise because of his deeds alone. They (the Companions of the Holy Prophet) said: Allah's Messenger, not even thou? Thereupon he said: Not even I, but that Allah wraps me in His Mercy, and bear this in mind that the deed loved most by Allah is one which is done constantly even though it is insignificant.
