Default Movement of Fetus
Assalamu alaikum,

I know that the Ruh is blown into the fetus 120 days after conception. I was just wondering how the fetus can move before it has a Ruh. Are they moving due to the Ruh in the mother?

bro.

A muscle of a dead body can be twitched by using an electrical impulse. But the Rooh has been already departed. So one can easily assume twitches in the fetus can be due to electrochemical interaction with in the body, not necessarily due to the Rooh. Also usually the first fetal movement is detected in around 18 weeks. That is around 120 days.

Even if you see a fetus twitch before that, you don't have to panic bro, There are lot of things medical science can't explain.

I did a bit more research into this and found that the fetus starts moving in the 6th and 7th week. However, these movements are reflexive. Purposive movements don't begin until the 18th week. So that does make sense in terms of the Ruh being blown into the fetus at 120 days.

Also bro, be careful while trying to use science to rationalize Islam. Scientific findings and theories are often wrong. The following lecture is a good one on this issue:
