As salaam alaikum wrb,
I wanted to write a software that would allow one to read translation of Quran, along with the Tafseer (from Marifat Al Quran) and other contextual information. And I would like to do it by myself for myself and distribute it as open source. But, I am worried, if a non-alim layman (plus sinner) like me should not even be allowed to write softwares related to Quran. Now I'm not sure, if this is my nafs, shaytaan; who is trying to put me away from this task or if this is a real concern that I should worry about. Therefore, I would like to know how to get this issue clear. What I intend to do is simple. A software like zekr (or Zekr itself) with ability to get information about Ayah from tafseer as well as hayatus sahaba to give historical context to the Surah or Ayah to the reader. Jazak Allah for the help in advance.. |

As salaam alaikum wrb, ![]() I don't thing there is anything wrong in making such a software unless you add or change the word of the scholar who wrote the tafseer/book. To be sure you can ask the ulema: http://daruliftaa.net/ |
