Default What is better ?
What do you think is better,

OPTION 1 : A search engine for Islamic materials only. It filters results from all unislamic websites and you can add new Islamic websites to the database manually.

OPTION 2 : A search engine for the whole web that donates all its profit to Islamic charities. Unislamic websites may appear in results as all results will be borrowed from BING. Adult keywords will be banned and image, dictionary, video e.t.c search features are also available.

Option 1 will be better . In Islam, the ends do not justify the means.

But the search engine is not something haram in itself. It just has the potential to be user for haram. Just like the forum software we are using to run this forum, it could also be used for haram - does that make making such a software haram ?

It would be a bad thing if the website is branded as "Islamic" but provides non-selective search results. The search engine is not haraam, yes, but if there exists an option where the haraam results can be removed, then that option should be taken.

It would be branded as a Muslim Charity Search Engine. The problem with other option is that it will only show results from "Islamic" websites that are manually added. No general results will be shown. It cannot be a replacement for Google e.t.c. While the second option is supposed to be a general search engine that gives its money to Islamic charities
