Asalaamo Alaykum
here are very good articles about vitamin D and natural medacine http://www.newstarget.com/021902.html These comics in very simple ways show the relationship between big buisness and modern medacine. Yes if you are very scared of getting vitamin D deffecincy and you dont want to go out side there are other alternatives. But the best is the sun. Make sure you are taking vitamin D and A with it. About having sun absorb from face and hand. I am certian long as it is absorbing somewhere. (think if you are taking a nicotine patch or anything else to aborb though the skin it doesnt matter what part it absorbs long as it has a route to absorb.)Just think all the centuries where muslims were extremely healthy even in recent times and their woman covered. Even recently there was this one village in packistan where a average life span was 125 years old untill they introduce modern western living it drop to 70 years. The bottom line in US is that the food industry, the government watch dogs and the drug companies have a role in keeping people sick by effecting policies in hospital and the government. http://www.newstarget.com/021218.html for more into this you can watch the new movie sicko which is coming out soon. wasalm Chris |

![]() ![]() I've never heard of a Muslim woman getting sick and/or even dying (may Allah ![]() Sunlight does not generate Vitamin D, it is the order of Allah ![]() Sunlight is just something that He has given us out of His unimaginable mercy and rahmat, but that doesn't mean that those who don't get exposed to it as much as others, because they were following His orders of covering themselves up, will become deficient, get sick or die. Otherwise, the world would have a minimal amount of Muslim women left. Last I checked, Alhamdulillah, that was not the case. In fact, quite the contrary, Masha'Allah. Surely, the western media would have blown it out of proportion if there were ever any cases of Muslim women being overly deficient in Vitamin D, the cause of which was 'thought' to be the fact that they cover up their body, but I don't recall ever having heard of such a case in the media. Does anyone else? Also, I know of some people who live in the South (USA), where if you know anything about 'down south', the first thing that comes to mind is the crazy heat and sun just about all year long, even during Winter time. I have known of people who live in these areas and they are Vitamin D deficient, their doctor has prescribed them Vitamin D pills to take for this. These are regular people, both Muslim and non-Muslims, males and females (in fact none of them is a hijabi as far as I remember), and they wear normal, skin-exposing clothes. Though this is not a scientific statement (but I always wanted to check it!), I would say people in the South are statistically more Vitamin D deficient than other places where there is not anywhere near the amount of sunlight as the south. However, like I said, that's not a scientific statement, just what I have personally observed over the years. Regardless, that kind of stuff only proves that it is the order of Allah ![]() Milk, most fruits/vegetables, and these days we even have the fancy 'pills', are all good sources of Vitamin D. One should get checked out by their doctor and not just start popping vitamin pills on their own, because maybe they think they need it but they don't. Allah knows best. Lastly, I know that the OP has now said more than once that he only posted to get opinions from others, and not because he has any doubts about Islam. So, what I posted is just as information on the topic, and I am not doubting the OP's imaan or anything of that sort. I think Insha'Allah we should all do the same. May Allah ![]() Allah knows best. ![]() ![]() |

hi guys
its not just hijab its other factors too, hijab obviously will reduce the amount of vitamin d, so can not eating foods which are rich in vit d, illnesses like malabsorbtion conditions, liver conditions, gallbladder conditions and many many other conditons also play a big part in vit d deficiencies, also habboits and social patterns and ways of living play a major role when it comes the sun, as some countires people stay indoors alot, some they dont, some countries have more sun and heat then others. its not just hijab that plays almost a very small role, also vit d deficiencies are seen more in women then men, just like iron, so its not just one factor its many many others |
