Default Aqida Tahawiyya?
As-salâmu 'alaykum wa rahmatullâhi wa barakâtuhu,

Not sure if this is going to make sense but here goes.
In regards to 'The Creed of Imam al-Tahawi : English Translation of Aqidah al-Tahawiyyah' It's a book Hamza Yusuf has translated.
What I want to know is where does this Aqida fit in with Ahle Sunnah? how does it compare to Ashari, Maturidi etc?
I don't need a detailed explanation about the difference it's just that you heard about the 2 schools of Aaqida Ashari, Maturidi just wondering where the Aqidah of Imam Tahawiya falls into this? can he be classed as a 3rd or is his work based on the Ashari, Maturidi?

I hope this makes sense to someone and they understand what I mean, if not please feel free to ask further and I will try and explain what I mean.

It's often classed as an Athari work, but Asharis and Maturidis study it and teach it as well.

Yea, as far as I know this is the agreed upon aqidah in the sense that ahluh sunnah deems it reliable.
As you go into fine grain detailed discussions it is than that different schools might have some of differing views. However, the muslims (not counting some of the sects) agree about the fundamentals, as represented by Tahawiyya.

If you are going to study Tahawiyya, I would recommend to study it with a teacher. I am currently taking a class on it from Qibla (http://qibla.com/courses/Belief/Intr...Islamic-Belief) - it is really good one and I would recommend it.
