Default Attributing Quote's Haram ?
Salam, Is it haram to attribute a quotation to someone if the source can't really be located but the context is fine? I'm not speaking about Hadith btw, I mean a quotation which is credited to someone. For example the quote; "Beautiful people are not always good but good people are always beautiful" is credited to have been said by Imam Ali (RA) even though i can't find it in any books. Would it be haram to regard this as one of his sayings? Adding onto my question and the great Sahabi Ali (RA). Would it be haram to attribute a quote of Nahjul Balagha to him if the context is fine?

Let me just rephrase the question. Is it permissible to use a quote if the source cannot be found? As many quotes are attributed to such and such on the Internet.

I'm also interested in the answer.
