Default Advice on being greedy in doing good
Salaamu alaiykum
Is it okay to be greedy when doing good, even if it infringes on the opportunity of others to do good e.g. someone is about to give adhan but you quickly beat him to it. Or there is a space in the front row and someone comes forth to step into it and you push them out so that you can step in it. Or how about if someone was told to help his brother in something and before that person could have time to think, you quickly do it instead and get the reward for helping your brother. Basically, you make sure that you take every opportunity you have to do good despite other people wanting to do it. Is it fine?

if you allow another Muslim brother in doing good and he commits the good act I have strong hope that Allah will also reward you. By assisting somebody in doing a good act this also is great good. Remember that Allah states,

5:2........Help ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancour: fear Allah. for Allah is strict in punishment.

In this verse is clear encouragement to assist one another in good works.

The above actions can harm.

Or how about if someone was told to help his brother in something and before that person could have time to think, you quickly do it instead and get the reward for helping your brother.

Really rewarding.

sometimes we forget it is more difficult to safeguard good deeds and have them accepted.
this is why we must remind ourselves of rights and responsibilities to others constantly

like praying salah in a nearby mosque while youre car blocks someones drive

Jazakallahu khaiyrun for the responses.
However, isn't there a hadith which says that if the people knew how much good there is in the first row, they will fight for it or draw lots etc.? How would one understand this in the light of our discussion?
