I was listening to a lecture and the man contradicted himself or at least he confused the heck out of me. He said that if a person makes a vow to Allah SWT that if "such and such" happens then he/the servent will do "such and such' like pray or fast or give sadaqa...etc. at first in the lecture he said it was in the quran and then in the end he said it is makruh because this shows that the person is misery. I"m like which one is it? I mean not to make a vow for every little thing but for MAJOR things in your life one can make a vow, right? does Allah SWT hate that or like that? I mean I'm not misery but it's like an extra deed to show Extra gratification..can you do that? is it still makruh.
once these vows are made and once a servant gets what they asked for then the vow is obligatory..that's why they said it was makruh. I still don't get why it would be makruh. |
