any info on BlackBerry Bold 9900 ? is it even worth it to get a blackberry? Its no where near the Galaxy/Sensation XE if you want performance and good media experience, though, and if this is your priority along with web browsing you are better off with the a proper touch screen (like the Galaxy/iphone etc). Also if you are interested in apps etc, the Apple/Andriod markets are far superior. |

iPhone 4 (or now 4S) would be a good choice, then again I might be a bit biased. There are plenty (and I mean plenty, Alhamdulillah) of Islamic apps, both paid and free. Everything from duas to zikr to hifz to Qur'an recitation to the basics to the advanced to hadith to salat timings to qibla finders to you name it. Alhamdulillah. However, I have heard the same about the Android market (regarding there being plenty of apps), so I guess you could consider that also (again I'm biased towards iPhone). The calendars and reminders feature on the iPhone can easily be used to do what you said you want to do, such as your phone reminding you throughout the day about different amal/zikr you need to do at certain times, and you can set it to remind you right "on time" or a few minutes/hours/days in advance about each task/amal. Nice app for skype as well (haven't used gtalk so I can't tell you about that). Don't know if you are in the USA but if you are then you should know that AT&T's service is terrible and the 3G doesn't work half the time. You should consider going with Verizon (much better service & signal) if you do end up choosing the iPhone. The only major different between the Verizon and AT&T iPhone is that on Verizon you cannot use data applications while you are speaking on the phone. So, for example, you cannot send a text message at the same time as you are speaking on the phone, or you cannot browse the internet at the same time as you are talking on the phone, etc. To me, that's not such a bad thing, who does that anyway? Then again, there may be able who like to talk on the phone and use the internet or other data apps at the same time on a regular basis so for them that might be downside. Let me know if you have any other questions about the iPhone & it's Islamic uses/apps and Insha'Allah I will try to help out. |

Does, iphone to iphone provide any chatting/calling features (like BBM) ? With the new iOS update a while ago, they have something called "iMessage", which is similar to BBM I guess. It only works with other users running iOS for and having iPhone 4 or better, I believe; otherwise the person just gets the message as a 'regular text message'. It's just like texting but it also works off wifi even if you don't have a service signal or want to save your data. |

1. I am using Samsung Galaxy S2. Performance wise it's really fantastic, no lags and you also have the option of installing custom ROMs to make the phone even faster. Very satisfying indeed alhamdulillah. 2. Android market provides plenty of free Islamic apps. You just have to choose which you want. 3. I've never personally used them but yes skype and gtalk is available for free too. |

Sorry for the late reply. My brother uses the x10 and hes very happy with it. Does everything you need. On smartphones the biggest problem is battery life! I hear that sony ericsson battery life is good. Also on android you get apps that reduce ram speed and keep the battery alive more |
