... Could I get some clarification on this please? I read this as referring to carrying out Islamic funerals and prayers - yani, that we shouldn't treat the death of a kuffar as we do the death of a Muslim. Could someone (anyone) please provide some clarification? |

About offering janazah salah, yes. But if you attend a non-muslim's funeral (where they don't pray janazah salah), just for the sake of those who are living (like the example at post #7) does this speak to that too or is there a different ayah or hadith that speaks specifically to this? |

I have read what Ulama said about visiting and consoling a deceased relative's family to maintain good relations and family bounds, even if they are non Muslim. Just so long as its not at the actual funeral. http://askimam.org/fatwa/fatwa.php?a...863de61d9ab8b5 http://askimam.org/fatwa/fatwa.php?a...0945a4fae411d0 http://askimam.org/fatwa/fatwa.php?a...7bdc8d0b6093c0 |
