I've never heard this before but it sounds like an old wives' tale. It could be that people have conflated the following two hadith:

"The son of Abu Said al-Khudri reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: When one of you yawns, he should keep his mouth shut with the help of his hand, for it is the devil that enters therein."

Abu Hurayra said: "It was mentioned by the Messenger of God that a man slept the whole night (did not do his prayer). He said, Satan had urinated in his ears."

I may be mistaken about this.

Oh Man, I am in office. I thought this scenario & I burst into laughter. May Allah protect us.

Yawning is from Shaitaan. Prophets havent yarned.

Just a footnote on this issue.

When one yawns and opens the mouth wide, widening the jaw muscles in a yawn triggers sublingual gland to emit mucus secretions which can be squirted. Thus, upon yawning, one can essentially squirt/spit mucus out of his mouth onto something.

Practice keeping your teeth and jaws together when the urge to yawn occurs. This is consistent when repressing a yawn during salah.

And Allah knows best.

There's a new one i heard recently: If your clothes are hanging on the washing line at 12.00 at night the jinn spit on it.

How do people believe such things? it makes the shaytaan and jinnaat sound so comical!

I have heard that Shaytan urinates on ones ears so that he sleeps and doesn't wake up for Fajr.

Narrated 'Abdullah (ra)
A person was mentioned before the Prophet (saw) and he was told that he had kept on sleeping till morning and had not got up for the prayer. The Prophet(saw) said, "Satan urinated in his ears."

What about a person who suffers from various nutritional disorders or sleep deprivation
And his or her body automatically yawns to increase the lack of oxygen supplied to the brai

Allah knows best and I have no answer

But some sayings are very different

Whaaaat!!! I thought this concept exists only in Bangladesh. From my childhood I had been watching my mom practising it. When she needed to go for any reason between Fard and Sunnah salah, she would at least fold a corner of the mat.

LOL.

Shaytaan must love to urinate.

When I was little, my mother used to tell me that if you don't say "Bismillah" before starting a meal, shaytaan will urinate on your food.

DISGUSTING!

the correct one is: Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) saying, "If a person mentions the Name of Allah upon entering his house or eating, Satan says, addressing his followers: `You will find no where to spend the night and no dinner.' But if he enters without mentioning the Name of Allah, Satan says (to his followers); `You have found (a place) to spend the night in, and if he does not mention the Name of Allah at the time of eating, Satan says: `You have found (a place) to spend the night in as well as food.'''
[Muslim].

Praise be to Allaah.

There follow a number of the Prophet’s teachings on yawning.

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Yawning is from the Shaytaan. If any of you feels the urge to yawn, let him resist it as much as possible, for if any of you says ‘Ha’ (makes a noise when yawning), the Shaytaan laughs." (al-Bukhari no. 3289)

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Allaah loves the act of sneezing and dislikes the act of yawning. If any one of you sneezes and praises Allaah, it is a duty on every Muslim who hears him to say ‘Yarhamak Allaah (May Allaah have mercy on you).’ As for yawning, it is from Shaytaan, so if any of you feels the urge to yawn, let him resist it as much as he can, for if any of you yawns, the Shaytaan laughs at him." (al-Bukhari, Fath, no. 6226)

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Yawning is from Shaytaan, so if any of you feels the urge to yawn, let him resist it as much as he can." (Muslim, 2994)

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Sneezing is from Allaah and yawning is from Shaytaan. If any of you yawns, let him place his hand over his mouth. If he says ‘Ah, ah!’ (makes a noise when yawning), Shaytaan laughs from inside him." Abu ‘Eesaa said: this is a saheeh hasan hadeeth. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, no. 2746; classified as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 4130)

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Allah loves sneezing and dislikes yawning. If any one of you sneezes and says ‘Al-hamdu Lillaah,’ it is a duty on everyone who hears him to say ‘Yarhamak Allaah.’ As for yawning, if any one of you feels the urge to yawn, let him resist it as much as he can, and do not say ‘Hah, hah’ (do not make a noise when yawning), for this is from Shaytaan and he laughs at it." Abu ‘Eesaa said: This is a saheeh hadeeth. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, 2747)

Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "If any of you yawns, let him cover his mouth lest the Shaytaan enter." (Abu Dawud)

Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "If any of you feels the urge to yawn, let him resist it as much as possible, lest the Shaytaan enter his mouth." (Imaam Ahmad)

According to another report also narrated by Imaam Ahmad, Shaytaan enters when a person yawns. (Saheeh al-Jaami’, 426)

From the reports quoted above, we may summarize the following:

1. That Shaytaan prompts the human to yawn, which is indicative of laziness and sluggishness.
2. That Shaytaan enters the person who yawns.
3. That Shaytaan laughs at man and makes fun of his ugly appearance when he is in that state.

The person who is praying must take care of the following:

1. He should resist yawning.
2. He should cover his mouth
3. He should suppress his voice (not make a sound).

And Allaah knows best.
