Default Fasting on Mondays & Thursdays
Salaam.
With regards to fasting on Mondays & Thursdays we all know this is a sunnah and there is great reward.
I have one question .. can you keep a fast on every Monday and Thursday or is there a limit of 3 per month? (i heard this was sunnah but not sure)
If you would like to exceed 3 per month would this be a problem? is this going against the sunnah?
JazakAllah Khair.

The sunnah is to fast at least three days in a month - not upto three days.

Iv never heard of any limitations on fasting Mondays and Thursdays.

Also there is great reward for fasting 3 days in a month (midmonth) not sure if there is more reward if you fast on certain days or anytime of the month.

It is sunnah to fast on the following days besides Ramadhan:
1. The White Days (13th, 14th, 15th of every month)
2. Day of Arafat (9th of Dhul Hijjah)
3. 9th and 10th of Muharram (if not, then 10th and 11th)

It is nafl to fast on the following days:
1. Mondays
2. Thursdays
3. Six fasts in Shawwal, preferably right after Eid-al-Fitr
4. 15th of Sha'ban
5. The first eight days of Dhul Hijjah before Day of Arafat
