In naqshbandia a time comes that salik needs to do only muraqebae la tayyun (the last muraqabah of the blessed silisla) plus the urwatul wusqa of nafi asbat (Lailahaillah),nothing more is needed. All strength in nisbat at that stage comes from nafi asbat lisani, tilawat (recitation of the Holy Quran) and nawafil.

![]() ![]() NB: Before any Sufis protest against this generalisation, this problem is not just limited to the field of tasawwuf, but also to every other field, Hadith, Fiqh, Tabligh, Jihad, etc. such is the decadence of the Ummah. May Allah help us. ![]() |

A person once asked him what is the isme murabi. He said isme murrabi is your shaikh. Shaikh is the mazhar of isme HADI ![]() This is a factual statement but, like others, it is sending me too into a state of excitement. What is beautiful statement indeed! Why is there so much of joy and ecstasy (lutf) in it? Because this event itself is a manifestation (mazhar) of ism-e-Lateef. Guidance (hidayah) very precious blessing of Allah(SWT). Allah(SWT) has not bestowed the ability to give guidance (hidayah) in any human being, even Prophet(AS)-let alone the Friends of Allah, the Shuyukh. But the even of guidance (hidayah) does take place in this world itself. It takes place in front of our eyes. So there is constant manifestation of of the attribute of The Guide (Al Hadi) around us. Those who are out side the fold of Islam, many of them enter the fold of Islam, this has happened in front of us. That is a manifestation of the attribute Al Hadi (the Guide). Those who are in the fold of Islam but are struck in various sects they give their old ways to align themselves along with the mainstream. That is again a manifestation of the attribute Al Hadi. Those who are in the mainstream of Islam they too give up those habits that are not encouraged by Islam. This too is a manifestation of the attribute Al Hadi of Allah(SWT). I'll add two more points that are not directly in line with the present thread but it is unlikely that I'll get a better context to say them. This process of imparting Guidance (Hidayah) has been continuous and there has been no break in it. There have been, even in the recent past, many Masha-ikh of very high achievements in Ummah. And there have been enormous progress, even collectively, in the spiritual field. I'll be content with two examples only. Earlier, and we are talking about not a too distant past, Shuyukh will put four very stringent conditions on Salik. Little talk, littel food, little sleep and little socialization. At this moment there is no tension about food and sleep. (This I got from my Shaikh (DB) himself and this does not seem to be merely his personal opinion.) So the only restrictions are little talk and little socialization. These are supposed to remain in place till the last day. Now this is certainly a huge progress. Just think of the old stories of the struggle's of the Salikeen. (Of course these observations are no license to gluttony and lethargy.) The other observation concerns that what was called secret knowledge earlier is by now public and it is your for asking. In the books like Tarbiat-us-Salik (and Salikeen too) and the other books that have been inspired by these books one has the secrets of mysticism in front of the public. This too is a great step forward. (A third leap forward in matters related to mysticism has been mentioned above-if you do Qadri Adhkar then you are spared long Muraqbah and if you are doing long Muraqbah then you are spared grueling Adhkar. This is not small realization in an era when many Shuyukh use the methods from all four major Orders (salasil).) The point that this sinner now wants to make is the following. In spite of these gigantic fetes in the recent times (last few centuries) this is also the time of the lowest point in the temporal matters of Ummah. This is the era of colonization. This is the era when Ummah has gotten hopelessly behind in science and technology. This is the time when the central Asian countries were gobbled up by USSR and Islam virtually eradicated from amongst those people (no demeaning of the sacrifices and struggle of those people intended). This also the time of liquidation of Mughal Empire and this is also the time of liquidation of the Ottoman Empire. Others can add more things. The conclusion that this sinner would like to draw is that if you strive for potatoes then Allah(SWT) will give you potatoes and sweet potatoes might not come in the package. (They might come but these are not, a priorie, guaranteed.) If you strive in the spiritual field then the temporal things are not guaranteed. The third and final point of this post is an extension of above point. There are many brilliant examples efforts of Ummah in temporal direction but that has so far not resulted in resounding results in temporal matters. I'll give few examples that are vaguely familiar to this sinner. The Balakot Movement of Syed Ahmed Shaheed. Before that efforts of Tipu Sultan. After Balakot Movement the movement of Haji Imdadullah Muhajir Makki (RA) that continued for quite some time in various forms. I'll include the Uman Dan Fodio movement into similar scheme of things but this sinner stand corrected by knowledgeable people about the character of that movement. If we combine them together and include others also that brothers may come up with then these are significant efforts but success is conspicuous by its absence. I''l stop by hazarding a guess. There has been examples in history that have been mentioned in the Holy Qur'an when the Prophets (AS) themselves were extremely stressed and started crying as to when will Allah(SWT0's help will come. Of course Allah(SWT) gives the consolation that do not worry Allah(SWT)'s help is very close by. This is a revealing communication from our Lord Most Kind. Allah(SWT)'s help comes when you have been reduced to your knees and you have been made to realize that you do need His help and you can do nothing without His help. Realization of our weakness and helplessness is an integral part of the descent of His help. Somewhere this sinner started presenting his two cents and thus it is time to stop. ![]() |

One should not be fooled by just activation of lataif. One day some salikeen (seekers) were travelling and they got hungry. They ate something from the farm of a farmer and later on they realized that eating without permission was haram (forbidden). They checked each other's lataif and found them still active. So just activating lataif is not the objective but the actual objective is sharia.
