i think it may look like all the brothers go running to reply to a sisters thread only because the male population on here seems to be a lot larger than female population, there only seems to be a handful of sisters posting, mostly because they have been scared away by the attitude of some of the guys |

What a shame, it's a pity there are not more women here. Maybe the brothers should be made more aware of their attitude at times or the women need to grow thicker skins. May ALLAH TA'AALA bestow upon us this superior quality as well. Amin. |

So that I don't sleep and spend hours in futile discussions like Allamah Iqbal ![]() (1) That discussion is not futile. People might not have changed from one opinion to other but they are becoming aware of other's opinion. (2) I was getting this thought that may be we should visit SF with a sense of duty. If we take it as work then we perhaps would like to get out of here fast. Just a thought. |

![]() I did not participate in the pet thread discussion. However, to lump everyone participated in the discussion as 'not doing it for the sake of Allah ![]() ![]() Secondly, how was the conclusion that 'males members rush to answer questions by the female members' come by? Was there a proper study to this 'claim'? While opinions are often allowed to be expressed, opinions are not claims. Claims should come with a solid proof as to differentiate it from 'speculation'. Thirdly, there are valid gender free questions posed by the female members of the forum. Imposing a rule without a valid fatwa will hinder these valid questions to be asked. Fourthly, we know from the seerah that discussions were done by segregating women behind the curtain. Of course we wouldn't dare to compare our discussion nowadays with the discussions conducted during the life of the Beloved Prophet ![]() The most important point I think is, if anyone really wants to implement this, bring a valid fatwa and let it be discussed. We all know that at the end of times the Beloved Prophet ![]() ![]() |

![]() Dear Brother It is not a matter of preventing discussion it is a matter of ensuring that the disease that is in the hearts of men and women is not given an avenue to express itself no matter how miniscule it might seem. Brother, also bear in mind that I seriously doubt from the seerah that men could discuss with ghair mahram women along the following lines e.g. My cat is so cuuuttee....wonderful eyes and has lovely fur...! It is essential that strict haya is maintained on an Islamic forum. I do belive that overall all the moderators on this forum do a fantastic job of maintaining the conversation Islamic however this is a timely reminder that is well noting. ![]() |

but thats just one reason (that there aren't too many posts by woman), the other one is that some females on this forum have such a major degree of hayaa' (shame) that they won't post in the mains unless it is totally necessary, and for that we have to give them their due and salute them for guarding and maintaining the natural and most outstanding quality of a female i.e modesty and shame. |

![]() Thank you brother for explaining that. In that case then I agree that perhaps it's better to have a solution to handle that. Mods are in most cases excellent in doing their jobs and reminding the forum members about their etiquette. If the problem still persists, then perhaps a new subforum can be opened where gender segregation can be enforced and these idle talks can be moved into. Then these idle talks can be deleted automatically perhaps (much like how desktop trash can be timed to be automatically deleted). That way the sisters can continue their discussions/jokes among them for a while if it's permitted and the thread gets deleted automatically afterwards. But that's just an idea. ![]() ![]() |

i agree with the quote from brother. To leave the forum for this reason might be partial solution but after time of rethinking brother Taliban should come back - I hope so as he is powerful member of forum and can influence others. It will always be like that even at time when sharian will be implemented that muslims will deal with non-muslims and many situation will be corrected and evaluated. We learn , inshaallah w alikum assalam |

A reminder for me, then to others...
A'ishah (ra) said "rahimaAllahu nisaa al-ansor, lam yamna'hunnal hayaa' minattafaqquhi fiddeen" (Allah has mercy upon the women of Ansor(inhabitants of Madinah),their shame does not prevent them from being more faqeeh(I think it means know religion more) in the religion.) So well, hayaa' means things that brings to good stuff and prevents ma'siah. Bottom line for a girl or any Muslim: Don't talk unless necessary as it will arouse fitna otherwise. HADITH 15 (Imam Nawawi's 40 hadith) : Abu Hurairah narrated that the messenger of Allah said : "Let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day either speak good or keep silent, and let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day be generous to his neighbour, and let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day be generous to his guest." p related by Bukhari and Muslim All good is from Allah Almighty, and all the bad stuff is from me... Salaam |
