And Maulana is leaving because Maulana is wasting alot of time on SF and neglecting his duties.

And Maulana thinks that Fitnah or no Fitnah, it is not write for sisters/brothers to address each other unnecessarily.

Have you ever noticed how most of the mods don't post much on SF.. Ever thought why? Maybe cause they themselves find it a waste of time

If

For being effective , you can reduce the time you spent on SF rather than saying bye bye. Better to check SF before sleeping so that you are in a hurry and answer only to the important questions

You should sleep well. What i meant was when we are sleepy we are very eager to go on bed and sleep. So whatever we do at that time we always fastforward it. In that way we may never do chit-chat

i think it may look like all the brothers go running to reply to a sisters thread only because the male population on here seems to be a lot larger than female population, there only seems to be a handful of sisters posting, mostly because they have been scared away by the attitude of some of the guys
What a shame, it's a pity there are not more women here. Maybe the brothers should be made more aware of their attitude at times or the women need to grow thicker skins.

but thats just one reason (that there aren't too many posts by woman), the other one is that some females on this forum have such a major degree of hayaa' (shame) that they won't post in the mains unless it is totally necessary, and for that we have to give them their due and salute them for guarding and maintaining the natural and most outstanding quality of a female i.e modesty and shame.

May ALLAH TA'AALA bestow upon us this superior quality as well. Amin.

(1) That discussion is not futile. People might not have changed from one opinion to other but they are becoming aware of other's opinion.
(2) I was getting this thought that may be we should visit SF with a sense of duty. If we take it as work then we perhaps would like to get out of here fast. Just a thought.

I did not participate in the pet thread discussion. However, to lump everyone participated in the discussion as 'not doing it for the sake of Allah ' is a generalization we should avoid. Everyone knows how RasuluLlah was kind to animals especially cats. Therefore we cannot judge that everyone who has pets and taking care of the animals is doing it leisurely.

Secondly, how was the conclusion that 'males members rush to answer questions by the female members' come by? Was there a proper study to this 'claim'? While opinions are often allowed to be expressed, opinions are not claims. Claims should come with a solid proof as to differentiate it from 'speculation'.

Thirdly, there are valid gender free questions posed by the female members of the forum. Imposing a rule without a valid fatwa will hinder these valid questions to be asked.

Fourthly, we know from the seerah that discussions were done by segregating women behind the curtain. Of course we wouldn't dare to compare our discussion nowadays with the discussions conducted during the life of the Beloved Prophet . Nevertheless we should take that as an example of how discussions were conducted. To prevent discussions is not the way to do it.

The most important point I think is, if anyone really wants to implement this, bring a valid fatwa and let it be discussed. We all know that at the end of times the Beloved Prophet warned us that the haram things will be made halal, and the halal things will be made haram. So before we proceed to implement it, please make sure that this is valid according to a fatwa, otherwise we just make unnecessary trouble for ourselves that we will be asked of in front of The Al-Mighty Allah .

Addiction! Ugh!
Its very hard for me to leave what I'm addicted to. Moulana, I too want to quit( I mean to say how to reduce the using of sffrom before?
You also have quoted that you are wasting time here but you have try your best to revive the most deadest sunnah in every possible manner by replying to all who are opressed with this. Your intention is pure that's why many members of SF have cleaned their minds from Ta'addud and also ready to act just to REVIVE this sunnah. Do you still think that youare wasting time here?

Dear Brother

It is not a matter of preventing discussion it is a matter of ensuring that the disease that is in the hearts of men and women is not given an avenue to express itself no matter how miniscule it might seem.

Brother, also bear in mind that I seriously doubt from the seerah that men could discuss with ghair mahram women along the following lines e.g. My cat is so cuuuttee....wonderful eyes and has lovely fur...!

It is essential that strict haya is maintained on an Islamic forum.

I do belive that overall all the moderators on this forum do a fantastic job of maintaining the conversation Islamic however this is a timely reminder that is well noting.

Mmb786, I dont think I understand what you mean about shame. Can you give me some kind of examples where it is shameful to participate in a coversation online about these kind of subjects?

I could be wrong but I think sister mmb786 meant it as shyness?

Thank you brother for explaining that. In that case then I agree that perhaps it's better to have a solution to handle that. Mods are in most cases excellent in doing their jobs and reminding the forum members about their etiquette. If the problem still persists, then perhaps a new subforum can be opened where gender segregation can be enforced and these idle talks can be moved into. Then these idle talks can be deleted automatically perhaps (much like how desktop trash can be timed to be automatically deleted). That way the sisters can continue their discussions/jokes among them for a while if it's permitted and the thread gets deleted automatically afterwards. But that's just an idea.

that'll basically serve the same purpose of the "brothers" and "sisters" sections, which already exist on SF. i think the best thing to do is... everyone must just make sure that they do not joke/chit chat with the opposite gender.

@ flatnose
yes i mean shyness, modesty, bashfulness ect. i guess "shameful" was the wrong word to use!

I just want to say that we (including me) should stay away from the opposite sex as much as we can. Just because you can't PM someone from the opposite sex doesn't mean all is well and just because you are talking infront of the whole world doesn't make it Halal Either.

Idle chit chat and joking between sexes is as haram on SF as it is anywhere else. I just want to request people to stay away.

Just like one brother has started dreaming about SF trolls, one can also dream about members of the opposite gender.

And also, jazakAllah sister, JazakAllah brother is also in the grey area.

And dear brother, dear sister is also in the grey area.

salam alikum,
i agree with the quote from brother.
To leave the forum for this reason might be partial solution but after time of rethinking brother Taliban should come back - I hope so as he is powerful member of forum and can influence others.
It will always be like that even at time when sharian will be implemented that muslims will deal with non-muslims and many situation will be corrected and evaluated.
We learn , inshaallah

A reminder for me, then to others...

A'ishah (ra) said "rahimaAllahu nisaa al-ansor, lam yamna'hunnal hayaa' minattafaqquhi fiddeen"
(Allah has mercy upon the women of Ansor(inhabitants of Madinah),their shame does not prevent them from being more faqeeh(I think it means know religion more) in the religion.)

So well, hayaa' means things that brings to good stuff and prevents ma'siah.
Bottom line for a girl or any Muslim: Don't talk unless necessary as it will arouse fitna otherwise.

HADITH 15 (Imam Nawawi's 40 hadith) :

Abu Hurairah narrated that the messenger of Allah said :

"Let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day either speak good or keep silent, and let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day be generous to his neighbour, and let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day be generous to his guest."

p related by Bukhari and Muslim

All good is from Allah Almighty, and all the bad stuff is from me...
Salaam

It's been brought down from 200 to 75 posts... i think its really pushing it to ask for still lesser! anyway you can always put

etc to speed up your post count, if you don't like posting that much.
