Default Iqlaab rule

I have been told there are two different opinions on the iqlaab rule. which are to, have lips slightly separate when saying the 'meem'. or to to show the meem clearly with ghunnah.

is this true that there are two different opinions? and which is stronger

thanks!

Wa 'alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

There are two different opinions regarding iqlaab. You can bring your lips together but reduce the pressure while producing a ghunnah, that is what I am more leaned towards and how I was taught. I have heard that the seperation of the lips is a more complementary opinion. The meem shouldn't be 100% clear, it should be a little hidden as if after meem saakinah a baa comes then we will hide it via ghunnah and pressure reduction (when the noon saakinah turns to meem saakinah, all rules of meem saakinah will apply).

Have a listen to episode 16 on this page:

This should clear things inshaa Allah. Allah knows best.
