Default Book - Understanding Taqlid
Assalamu Alaikum,

Here's a very beneficial book about why taqlid is important by Mufti Muhammad Sajaad.

It is being distributed free in UK, but for those outside UK, here's a PDF copy.

Do read it as it is very beneficial and the highly needed for our iman's protection.

Is this yet another booklet that restates the Deobandi stance of "ijma on the obligation of taqleed of only one madhab"?

Even though it is known that its an issue of valid difference as has been shown in other threads..

Continuously saying ijma doesnt make it ijma.

Don't try to figure it out before actually reading the book.

Also try to play nice during Ramadhan.

I think I've read the older edition of the book (or was that just an article? I can't remember).

Anyways, I haven't read the entire book (i.e. this edition), but what I did read was quite beneficial, :mas:.

would this book be good for someone who is having a mini crisis of faith and is questioning the whole thing about the schools of thought etc? The person is sincere, but he is questioning why there are 4 schools of thought, why not one unifying stance etc. He's watched abit too much zakir naik I think and been on a few forums which has given these thoughts.

Mufti Taqi Usmani's book would probably be best.

By the way, is his crisis of faith relating to the Madhahib only, or Islam in general? The latter is a much bigger problem and won't be solved by understanding Taqleed.
