My Arabic is very limited, but I don't think the first part is entirely correct. Its probably supposed to be 'Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyumu la ilaha illa anta', i.e. no 'ya' before 'la'.

The dua has some minor errors Let me re-write it:

يا حي يا قيوم لا إله إلا أنت أسئلك أن تحيي قلبي بنور معرفتك أبدا

Could you please also put vowels marks in it?

Better to use this or "Nawwir qalbi bi nuri ma'rifatik"?

First start at the beginning of the dua, why do you think this dua starts particularly with the beautiful names Hayy and Qayyum? There must be some connection with these Asma e Husna and the dua. Something is being asked to be brought into existence and be kept sustained. We see it later in the dua with the words qalb and ma'rifath. Meaning, "O Allah swt You give life and You sustain life, so bring my dead qalb into life with Your gnosis (ma'rifath) and keep it sustained in that condition."

In duas, first notice the Asma e Husna that are used and link them to what is being asked. For example in the dua for Salaat Haajat the Asma "Haleem" and "Kareem" are used. These two Asma will explain the entire dua. "You are the haleem, forbearing, tolerant, overlook my sins by Your quality of haleem and then have generosity (karam) upon me with Your quality of generosity (kareem) and fulfill this need of mine."

Brother Fusus, regd. your blog entry on Haji Imdadullah Baig ra....which is the best dua for asking aafiyatt from Allah SWT?

I know one:
Allahumma inni as alukal afwa wal aafiyah fid dunya wal aakhirah.

Are there more, ^ is that enough?

I heard in a bayan that once a sahabi (and I think it was Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud (RA))asked Prophet SAW to teach him a duaa when he taught him the duaa mentioned above and told further that this is the duaa most liked by Allah SWT. Alhamdulillah this duaa is very comprehensive covering everything, first we ask for forgiveness as sins acts as hindrance in everything and then we ask for aafiyah in the world which includes health, wealth, family and everything related to this world and aafiyah in the akhirat. Allahu alam

sis, in the beginning I only knew 'Allahumma inni as alukal afwa wal aafiyah' the an elder asked me to add 'fid dunya wal aakhirah' So just asking if there is more to it or any more additional dua's, I don't think so, yet ...

That was the best duaa taught in its entirety by our beloved Prophet SAW to the sahabi, "Allahumma inni asalukal afwa wal aafiyata fid dunya wal akhirah"
inshaaAllah we can come across more duas in munajat e maqbool.
