we (men) have heard this line before at least once in our lifetime.
Hadhrat Abu Qursaafah (Radhiallaahu Anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, 'Removing dust particles and waste from the Masjid is the Mahr (dowry) of large eyed Hoors of Jannah.' we (men) have heard this line before at least once in our lifetime. Unfortunately, most men are too busy pursuing their pathetic imitations in this life - the dust particles of the Dunya. |

subhanallah, I would sometimes see elders picking up the little particles of dust that happened to be in front of them from the masjid carpet after salah. I just assumed it was a point of adab from "back home". I never realized there was a hadith behind it! Badrud_Duja, I remembered your post and did this after isha just now May Allah reward you and me. |

hooris are not the objective of Jannah. This teenage like mindset is not what Islam is about. It is like saying I am going to resturant but objective is to drink water. Jannah is as "makhluq" as Hooris, there is absolutely no difference between them in this regard. So saying hooris are not the objective is like saying jannat is not the objective. So "Shaikh Al-Islam, Sultaanul Awliyaa" Nomadic can you enlighten us what Islam is about, so that we "teenage-mindset holders" can leave our erroneous ways. |

On that account it could even be said that Jannah is not the objective, right? Its not that Jannah is not objective but worshiping Allah for his pleasure alone is a good thing.. Abu Bakr As-Sideeq (ra) used to worship Allah not for reward but He said that Allah deserves to be worshiped. That does not mean that one should not covet Jannah or longing for Jannah is a bad thing. Read Hasan Al Basris take on this if you are interested in finding out the objective. The greatest and the ultimate reward is Deedat of the king of kings, The most sublime, the Most beneficient and the most Merciful. Bro, what you said is right doing deeds for the pleasure of Allah alone is good. But longing for reward in the Akhirah and Jannah is not a 'teenage' mindset as you described earlier. There are numerous examples that the Sahabah asking about the rewards and being motivated hearing it. There is nothing wrong in it. Hadrat Uthman bin Affan (ra) asked Rasoolullah if he will get a fountain in Jannah if he buys the well of Roomah for the Muslim. Now can we call that a 'teenage' mindset? NO. http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/show...l=1#post631441 P.s. Brother Nomadic please be careful when using words like teenage mindset, ski mask, ninja etc to describe Islam. You will nullify your good contributions of knowledge with such irresponsible remarks. Perhaps you or the mods can delete the posts, but it is permanent in Allah's book. You know that better than me Akhi. May Allah forgive us for our bad remarks. Ameen. |

Human likes tengible target so it helps or encourages to do good action but for pleasure of Allah. P.s. But tell me an example if our beloved Rasoolullah forbid to long for things in Jannah? I don't think there is any. Because we are allowed to long for Jannah and to fear Jahannam. But its better to long for the pleasure of Allah and fear the wrath of Allah. No more from me. |
