Default Tongi Ijtima 2012 - Kindly Advised
Assalamualaikum,

Insya'Allah, I'll be coming to Tongi Ijtima, Bangladesh which will be held on this 13th - 15th January 2012. I'll be in foreign guest. Allahuma amin!

Insya'Allah, I will be arrived on 11th and going back on 17th January. Therefore I would like to get utmost benefit from this ijtima and looking forward to all advise from brothers here.

I would like to take this opportunity to sohbat with all Masyaikh and get benefit from their closeness rank to Allah s.w.t.

Please advice me my dear brothers. Is it possible to meet them to get personal advise on my rohaniat condition and take bay'at from them for my Islah.

Yes , its possible to meet sufi shaykhs in Bangladesh. In Dhaka , you can find a good number of Sufi shaykhs. One such shaykh is Hazrat Professor Muhammad Hamidur Rahman (Daamat Barakaatuhum) . His biography is available here.

However, regarding bayat, you have to be patient. Typically, someone should not make haste to give bayat. Rather, you should do one of the
following things.

1. Meet some sufi shaykhs , attend their majlis several times and check your heart to whom you feel attracted.

2. Do Istikhara and wait for a divine signal to point you towards a sufi shaykh.

Have you already tried to find a sufi shaykh in your own country ? If not, first you should search there . Its a great benefit , if you can spend
time in the companionship ( Suhba ) of a genuine sufi shaykh.

Sorry for being late to response to this thread. If you would come for longer duration, then it would be possible to meet Ulama and Mashaikh of Bangladesh. Because famous Ulama live in different locations. It requires a lot of time to meet them. Anyway, we'll meet on the Ijtima.
Where are you from?

Ace Abbas,

Email najmuddinalqadiriATgmailDOTcom

Direct it to shaykh Najmuddin if you are interested in the Qadiri-Khalwati, otherwise ask it to be forwarded to Abu Yahya, and I will advice you on different shuyukh in the area. In the Qadiri-Khalwati you will most likely be prescribed 313 La ilaha illa'Llah to begin with, with the addition of some Salawat and DuŽas that are specific to the tariqa. That is a solid foundation, which the shaykh will build on.

There are a few other shuyukh as well, more senior.

wa'Llahu a'lam

Just one more thing I want to add. After going to Bangladesh, you should not openly ask other Tabligh Jamat (TJ) brothers about sufi shaykhs in Bangladeh. Why ?

That is a long story. In short, misconception and negative attitude towards suif shaykhs has spread like a wild fire. And , many sincere TJ brothers were affected. So , you have to be careful. To understand the grave situation , you should visit there threads.
