Salaam to all. I wanted to share my favorite azaans, as I've always taken a special liking to the azaan. The sound of the azaan has been one of Islam's best methods in attracting new believers, and I would even consider myself an azaan connoisseur . Every day that I am able to use a computer I will take the time to update this topic and I hope to be active at least 4 days every week to share a new azaan. I would like to share these azaans and to gain feedback and host discussions on the topic, and if possible I will also tell you a bit about the muezzins.
The first azaan I'm posting is by Mustafa Ozcan. He was born in Cankiri, Turkey and now lives in Germany. He is additionally known to make nasheeds and is also a qari, in 1991 he won the Quran recitation competition in Saudi Arabia. I found his azaan purely by luck. During one of my earliest times at Jum'ah, a young Somali muezzin made the call to prayer. It was the most beautiful sound I had ever heard, and even the audience was moved, with attendees saying that they had never heard an azaan like it. That's when my quest for azaan began, and I went to youtube that night and looked through a dozen azaans before finding Mustafa's, and it sounded absolutely identical to the young muezzin I heard in the mosque that day. And to this very day, many years later, I have not yet heard an azaan on par with the young muezzin at the mosque, but Mustafa's is as close it gets. Please enjoy, you might thank me later. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srUfdCJ6qD4 |

The following is an Azaan by the legendary qari Abdul Basit Abd us-Samad of Egypt, may Allah have mercy on him. He is the only qari to have ton three world qirat competitions, all in the 70s. This is a very powerful azaan that even made kafir Soviet leaders cry upon hearing it. Please enjoy.
