Assalamu aleykum
I would like to know how the profesional of health behave with muslim in public hospital in UK? Do they respect the sense of modesty of Muslim women? Here, in France, they don't care. They just impose upon you what they have, that means per example a man for a gynecological consultation in urgence : horrible And i don't talk about the oprression for the sisters wearing niqab, so humiliating. They stop you and say that you have to remove your niqab, you have to respect the law... or they call the police. You have to remove your hijab for surgery, delivery, they do not respect at all the sense of modesty, and there is very few women gynaecologist, more men, even the midwife are more and more men. I hope to leave this country asap inchAllah |

Bismillah
You do know there is a exception to the rule. In an ideal world, there would be female muslm doctor. there are very few female doctors and our practicing brother and sister have issues with women working and so why demand female doctors. I for one would demand for women to remove their niqab at certain place like Banks, Airport, schools, hospitals unless your profession requires it. Note I am not anti niqabi but am anti those lacking commonsense. Allahualam |

You answered what i did not asked, read the question again, jazakAllahu khairan, since i have seen on tv that in some hospitals in uk, for surgery, they created a kind of medical niqab.
i am asking about the health care system in UK and if the medical community respect you, especially in hospitals. barakAllahufikum |

I've been to hospital with my mum few times, she wears burqa and never had any problem, it's usually a female doctor but she has to lift her veil in the doctor's room regardless whether it's a male or female doctor. But she doesn't have to reveal her face at the reception or in the waiting room |

Assalamu aleykum And if you want more female doctors then educate the muslim women in your community to become doctors. Regardless you shouldn't complain if you have a male/female doctor, you should be grateful that you're getting free healthcare. |
