I recently try to contact Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad thorough the http://www.tasawwuf.org for the reason to be one of his mureed and get reply from his assistant (Staff) that there is no representative in my country. Here was the reply...

Currently we do not have any representatives in your region to refer you to, but we do advise you to stay connected to the website and start the dhikr mentioned in the 'Basics for the Seeker' section. We also advise you to stay connected to your local masjid and the local ulama, wherever you can find them and ask them to take you under their wing and teach you. InshaAllah you will start seeing the effects. My question is that since they mentioned "start the dhikr mentioned in the 'Basics for the Seeker'", does it mean I'm allow to perform that regular Dhikr? which actually I have started but has doubt in my mind that I'm doing it without the Shaykh permission (Bayat). In my case, i was directed to shaykh Tauqeer sb from dubai, while i am from a different gulf region. All our contacts is online. We talk of phone, have weekly online dhikr gathering, Update our status via email.

, you dont have to do bayat to start the basic zikr of the naqshbandis, I attend a majlis of a naqshbandi sheikh and I am not bayat, i do the zikr (I have done it at home too once or twice and the sheikh encourages it as a daily amal). There is a poster on the wall of the khanqah which explains in detail the method of zikr and encourages everyone to do it. you have been contacted by the website and been told to start the zikr, so I think you should start doing it while you continue your search for a sheikh. Allah knows best

Salam, as far as bayat is concerned, alhamdulilah Hazratjee(Shaykh Zulfiqar) does it online after every bayan almost. Its broadcasted live at tasawwuf.org. You'll get the blessings of nisbah. Plus its Allah swt that will purify your heart for that you follow the zikar prescribed. Specially muraqabah. JazakAllah.
