I am planning an islamic gathering for shaykh to deliver lectures.

What should I keep in mind, what are the Dos and Donts?

Event will be for 2 days

bro Helper, its been quite a long time since you posted on SF, glad to see you back

Regd. the event,
1. take permission from your masjid zimmedaars (committee) where the gathering is to be held,
2. also what will be the topic of the lectures?
3. and you should at least announce the itinerary/event 2 weeks before, and put it in the notice board of your masjid and all the local masjids (just print out the schedule, the shaykh who is going to be speaking and perhaps the topic too, date & time and distribute these pamphlets at all the local masjids, also announce it in all your local masjids esp. after the jumuah salaah by requesting the imaam/the respective masjid committee/zimmedaars - very very important.
4. usually not all the lectures will be held in one masjid, usually ulema's are requested to speak at diff. masjids at diff. times (main lectures assuming in your masjid are scheduled after isha salah, then shaykh db can also speak at a diff. masjid after the zohar salah/asar salaah.
