Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah and your prayers, our trip to Mumbai was very beneficial. Here is a short summary of the trip.

The elders and distinguished personalities we had a chance to meet were:

Hazrat Maulana Sajjad Nomani(d.b):

We had a connection with Mawlana Sajjad from before.We reached in his service on 4 March 2011. After Asr, he held a majlis, where we had the chance to sit directly in front of him and listen. He spoke about correcting our intentions and how mashayikh influence others' hearts through tasarruf/tawwajuh. Alhamdulillah the talk was very 'ilmi (of a high knowledge nature) and many of our apprehensions were cleared in the talk.

Haji Shakil Ahmad sb(d.b) :

Haji Shakil sb is a khalifa of Mufti Hanif Jaunpuri(d.b) and a very old worker of Tabligh. He is also the father-in-law of Qari Ahmad Ali Falahi. We had a long-held desire to meet him. He holds his majlis on Sundays. On 6 March 2011 we reached his majlis at such a time that it had already began. Alhamdulillah, in easy words, he gave a very valuable talk. The topic was how the nafs attacks us and how it plots such that we may go astray (may Allah protect us). After the talk, Allah gave us a chance to eat with Haji Shakil. After that, we showed Haji Shakil our website on a laptop. He was very happy and made a lot of du'a, and promised us a chance to do his service in his next trip to Gujrat.

Haz.Hakim Afghani sb(d.b) :

After leaving Haji Shakeel, we started going towards Kurla (a suburb of Mumbai), where Hakim Afghani lives. Hakim Afghani is a relatively-unknown big wali of Allah and the father-in-law of Haji Shakeel. In all of our trip, this was the most valuable hour. When we entered his small room, he was performing wudu (ablution). He is quite weak now at 80 years. He is from the same village - Kheda Afghan, near Saharanpur - as was Mawlana Saeed Khan sb(r.a) (of Madinah Munawwarah). He studied in Mawlana Saeed Khan's maktab and benefited a lot from him.

In response to my questioning, he said that he had seen and remained in the company of elders such as Maulana Muhammad Ilyas sb(r.a), Maulana Abdul-Qadir Raipuri sb(r.a), Maulana Husain Ahmad Madani sb(r.a), and Maulana Shah Wasiullah sb(r.a).

He related a very interesting story: "Once Mawlana Muhammad Ilyas came in jama'ah to my village. At the time, I was a small child of five or six years. Mawlana Sa'id Khan requested Mawlana Muhammad Ilyas to perform dam on him. When Mawlana Ilyas did perform the dam, out of my childishness, I said, 'You have performed such a strong dam, what, do you want to kill me?'"

Then Hakim Afhgani gave us some more advices, especially about valuing time. When the time for Asr came, I was right next to Hakim Afghani. He gave me plenty of advice then too. When I tried to pick up his shoes before entering the masjid, he did not permit me, and said, "My shoes are normal, no one will take them. But take care of your own shoes." My friend took our shoes and put them somewhere. When we had completed our Salah, I couldn't find my shoes. I thought that perhaps my friend has taken my shoes outside. When I exited the masjid, Hakim Afghani came from behind, carrying my shoes himself. He said that he had taken the shoes and put them in a safe place where they wouldn't be taken. I felt very ashamed, so he said, "Haven't you read the story of Mawlana Rashid Ahmad Gangohi, that it rained once, and all the students took their books and ran under cover, while Mawlana Gangohi remained, picking up the shoes of the students.

Dr. Abu Tamim

Allah Most High made this entire trip easy through the help of Dr. Abu Tamim. Taking time from the elders and traveling a lot was difficult, but Dr. Abu Tamim took out time from his very busy schedule in order to make accommodations for us. He served us so much that we were feeling ashamed. Dr. Abu Tamim is a young but very knowledgeable person. His household is also very religious. His 28-year old sister memorized the Qur'an in seven months. His wife is the chief of Gynecology at a very large hospital. Dr. Abu Tamim is a visiting doctor at four or five places. He just opened a big hospital specialized in diabetes, of which he is the coordinator. He is a very busy man and is specialized in diabetes and cardiology. Because of us, he delayed his entire Saturday and Sunday programs, and throughout our trip, he was with us. May Allah reward him well.

Br. Azim

Brother Azim is a friend of ours who is deeply connected to the elders. When Shaykh Hakim Ajmeri, the khalifa of Mufti Mahmud Hasan Gangohi, stops by Mumbai, he stays in Br. Azim's house. He is very young, but he is a sacrificing old worker of Tabligh. He is the one who told us about Hakim Afghani. May Allah reward him well too.

Br. Shuib Momin

In our Mumbai tour, one of our wishes was to meet Brother Shu'ayb Mu'min, but he was gone South on a business tour. When he returned back on Monday, Dr. Abu Tamim called him and informed him of our arrival. Despite having just arrived back from travel and being sick, he came to meet us at 11 PM. He is also very young, but is very into Tabligh. He is at all times in worry about Tabligh and the Ummah, and in grief over the lack of Din. During just that meeting he got us prepared to spend a year in jama'ah.


During our tour, we also took out some time to visit places of tourism and some masajid. All Praise is to Allah, this trip was beneficial, may Allah accept it.

First of all I do not have any words for the team of ATTABLIG and especially Maulana Junaid Sahab for not devoting any time during their visit. One of the reason is that Hazarat Maulana Hakim Ajmeri Sb .(db) just flew to Delhi after his 18 days stay at my house on the day when you people came knocking by my Garib Khana and I was quiet busy with other activities.

Regarding Hazarat Maulana Khalilur-Rahman Afghani Sahab one thing I would like to add is that He is amongst the two of the FIRST CITIZEN ON MUMBAI .I have heard a lots of praises from my elders regarding him.

Hadhrat Maulana [Rasheed Ahmad] Gangohi was once giving lessons of Hadith when it started to rain. All the students took their books and ran inside, but Maulana Sahab was collecting the shoes of the students to take them with him. Seeing this the people were astonished.

Yet another memorable Bombay trip


Alhamdullillah by the grace of Allah, I was fortunate to stay 2 days in the company of the elders and be of service to them in the blessed month.

the purpose of this visit was to be in the company of haji shakeel ahmd db (khalifah of Hz Mufti Hanif sb jonpuri).to know more about him,plz visit http://shariat.info/aboutpage.html

As usual dr abu tamim sahib who shows much humbleness towards our plight, even when he is so busy with his occupation and while keeping his fast, made a 2 hr journey in his car from Bombay to came to panwel
on thrusday at the time of asr we arrived in panwel which is near bombay Haji sahib lives here..

Haji sahib has a special attentive and kind eye on me and holds a very good opinion about me. May Allah make his opinion true. He arranged our breakfast at his home and it was very nice iftar we enjoyed at his home.

after isha namaz, haji sahib insisted I lead the taraweeh prayer eventough I refused. I desire this action will b a source of my deliveranceon the day of judegment.

After taraweeh, as an exception, there was a short bayan and this was followed by a long 1.30hr duaa.A duaa that was full of weeping and a duaa as if it was once in a lifetime. We had previously heard of this practice and now we witnessed it. (here is that small bayan and dua)

By Allah’s mercy and with the blessings of haiji sahib, I went on the net to upload his bayan. While hazrat was near me, I received a telephone call from bilal bhai patel from Toronto. He informed that upon your request to talk to shaikh fazlurahman sb aazmi db(shaikhul hadeeth Azadville), I have introduced your goodself to him and enquired if you want to talk to him now. Saying this he handed the mobile to him. I was lost for word out of joy listening to this event.

After duaa and the sunnah greetings, he requested permission from hazrat to read a hadeeth. Hazrat said how are you? I said : Shall I read the last hadeeth of bukhari shareef? He said ok so I read it. He requested (permitted me) me to give the sanad of this hadeeth from sihahe sitta (6 authentic hadeeth books). ALhmadullilah, I also talked to him about internet and website. He espressed his happiness and gave his duaas.

On the next day, even with His illness, Hazrat gave a bayan after jumma prayers. It was and unusal long bayan. He explained at length how our fikr (worries and concentration, attention) should be. The bayan was very beneficial.(here is that bayan)

We then requested his permission to leave. He gave us lots of farwell duaas and his son came to see us leave at the railway station.

May Allah reward them all.

We learnt from the bayan after jumma that mufti hanif jonpuri db (hazrat’s sheikh) was in making I’tikaf at a place on muahmmed ali rd in Bombay. We were very happy to learn this and as soon as we arrived in Bombay, after magrib namaz and iftar, we set forth to meet him. As it was the first time we had to ask someone to point to us where mufti sahib was in the masjid. They pointed us to an elderly shiakh in a corner.

when we reached him, we were full of joy seeing this pious servant of Allah. After introduction and the reason as to y we had come, I asked some questions and mufti sahib replied. As he is quiet elderly we were unable to record the conversation. However some of the questions and answers are as follows:

Me - How old are you?

Hazrat - 102 yrs

Me - From who did u acquire ur knowledge?

Hazrat - From Shah Wasiullah – Khalifah khaas of molana thanwi ra.

Me - BUkhari sharif?

Hazrat - The complete bukhari, 12 times from him. And I stayed in his service for 18 years. Once I upset him regarding something and he didn’t talk to me for 2 yrs.

Me - For how many years have you been teaching?

Hazrat - Since 64 yrs. First 24 yrs in hazrat’s madara. Thereafter a few years at buraini and sarai mir. At present I don’t teach at any place. Whensome people request I go and teach. Last year I went to teach at Madarsa of Qari Ahmed Ali Falahi.

Me - I need to take permission for Hadeeth from you

Hazrat - From whom have you read (learnt) bukhari shareef?

Me - from qari rashid ajmeri sb db

Hazrat - What is the need then! When you hv already learnt from elders.

ME: TO get your blessings and get your permission

Hazrat - I don’t have the book here.

Me: Can I read the last hadeeth to you?

Hazrat - OK

I then read the hadeeth form bukhari and Hazrat gave me and my colleague the ijazah (permission) and said when you will teach to others I will also get a share from the reward.

Me: I have a friend from UK in Kuwait and he is also requesting permission.
(I was hinting at skhaikh muhammed danial haf )

Hazrat; yes I give him permission too.

After Salam and greetings of farewell we departed.

May Allah give us the tawfeeq and ability to tred on the footsteps of these pious elders.
