Asslam O Alaikum Br. Momin1,
I do not the current situation of Halal meat in India because when I left India it was in a different phase. The Halal has to be Halal certified by a reputable Halal certifying organization which contro the Halal status from farm to table. Recently I went a Indian Halal certifying website based in Pondacherry which are putting heading "Happy Devali" http://halalindia.org. You can see yourself it still has Devali greeting since Otober 2011. What kind of Muslims they are?. I wrote them that Muslims website should not have such thing and they respond to me. The chicken must hand slaughtered by a Muslim not machine slaughtered because some Muslim businessmen are using machine slaughtered chicken at their KFC stores but on other hand 8 Popye chciken Muslim franchisers are fighting the Popye compani not to change hand slaughtering to machine slaughtering in 8 Toronto area Popye chicken stores. Beside hand slaughtered chicken, some food scientist should check the Halal status of coating put on KFC chicken. So this requires a lot free Halal Food education in India for Indian Muslims. Many muslims brothers ask me to go India for helping Indian Muslims but I can not go to India because of my personal commitment to US and Canadian Muslims. There is also a Halal certufying organization in Maharasthra but I do not know their background. I recommend you to ask KFC store manger in Madras to produce the Halal certificate for chicken and coating. |
