Default Widows in Jannah
Asalamu Alaykum.

I heard that if you die married, you and your wife will meet in Jannah. But what if the woman gets married again after you die? Will she be with the first or last or both of them?

I'm sorry for this weird question, but I wish to clear things out, so that I may Insha'Allah get more Ilm.

Wouldn't the same apply to divorcees? One partner could have moved on and remarried and one just never remarried again.

From what little I can remember, and by no means take this as a proper answer to your question - but read somewhere if a man has had more than one wife or woman has had more than one husband, they choose their partner in heavan.

I've also read somewhere recently that a man will have two women of the Earth as wives. If he's only been married once, whos is the other one

As much as I'm curious, sometimes I think its a waste of time pondering over such matters. Lets concentrate on getting into Jannah first, insha'allah

The case of the divorcee is different because she was divorced so why would she marry the old husband in jannah? Anyway, basically, the widow marries the one who treated her best in dunya

There are a few situations as explained by Allaamah ibn Hajar al-Haytami al-Makki (RA):

a. Either the woman had more than one husband, and each of them divorced her. In this case, she will be given a choice and Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) has stated that she will choose the one who had the best character. (Tabrani; Ibid)

b. A woman had married a few husbands. While she was in the marriage of the last husband she passed away, or he passed away and she did not remarry thereafter. In this case, she will be with the last husband. This is according to the narration of Sayyiduna Abud-Dardaa (Radhiallaahu Anhu) recorded by Imaams Tabrani and Abu Ya?alaa. Hafiz al-Buseeri has classified the narrators of the narration of Abu Ya?alaa as reliable. (Al-Itthaaf vol.5 pg.39). also refer to Fataawa al-Hadithiyya of Allamah ibn Hajar al-Haytami al-Makki (RA) pgs.48-49 and Kashful Khifaa vol.2 pg.265
