What made you change your madh-hab to 'none'. Was it not 'hanafi', previously? ![]() I am not a talib-ul ilm and don't feel worthy of associating myself with a school of law in particular. However, this is not especially relevant to the topic that I know of. Ask her about thoughts, things like that- they have no actual substance, and yet they are, and we certainly experience them. If she believes in evolution, ask her what she thinks jinns evolved from (if she says 'invisible monkeys' then you should probably not talk to her anymore). |

Majority of Shias are becoming atheists these days and if the rate of conversions persists , sooner majority of the Shias will become Atheists. The problem is not limited to the Shias of the west but also in the lunatic Iran. The main reasons for this phenomena are three.
1. The incomprehensible and ambiguous concept of Tawheed in Shiaism: Tawheed , which is the foundation stone of every Ilhami religion and the basic intuitive need of the soul of every human being is extremely ambiguous in Shiasm. The amount of divine authorities which they have attributed to their Imams make it very difficult for a common shia to fit in the concept of " A superior God with in the 14 Gods" . The more they read and hear about the mythical authorities of the imams , the more the cocept of an omnipotent God goes into the background. Hence when such a Shia gets educated and is exposed to the atheistic arguments , this ambiguous concept of Tawheed shatters down like a cascade of cards. 2. The induction of Wilayat e Faqih in Shiasm and its failure: The iranian revolt was not merely a religious uprising but alot of secular nationalists had joined the movement under the banner of "Marg bar shah" ( Death to the king). Similarly , the Shias who had religiously joined the movement were also unaware of the results and noone of them had any clear future planes in thier minds. It was not much latter that Khomeini inducted the concept of Wilayat e Faqih in Shiasm and made it mandatory upon every shia to accept him as the deputy of the so called 12th Imam. Since then WF has been viewed as an integral part of Shiasm (Atleast the 12vers version). However , the experiment of WF did not prove to be a success for long as the brutalities and atrocities which occured in the name of WF were viewed as brutalities and atrocities of the religion.Moreover , it was something for sure that the wicked Irani nation which still have the Majoosi gene will not digest any sort of religious government for long and one can see easily that the Irani youth is fed up with the "Ayathullahs" (much details can be given but the recent uprising in Iran during the last polls is a good example) . Even many "Ayathullahs" and family members now openly denounce wilayat e Faqih (including the Grandsons of Khomeini. A bit of googling will do it). The failure of WF has become a failure of Shiasm and has added fuel to the raise of Atheism in Iran. A an ex Atheist-Shia sister made a thread about it on a Shia forum and this is how an Irani rafidi explained the things. [IMG] ![]() 3. The gradual combustion till cessation of Shias in the futile wait for the 12th Imam: The futile wait for Mehdi has also added to the mess. The educated Shias now take the story of a 5 years old boy running into the cave of Sarman Rayi and his near-end emergence as a myth. |

@Aspirer,
I am no longer debating with that atheist don't worry. @dr.ati, All of those points aside, the MAIN reason why Shias are going towards atheism is because of the HUGELY MASSIVE amount of ridiculously unbelievable fairy tales and myths found in the books of their scholars. Their intelligence will not allow them to believe in the stupidity found in their books in the 21st century. |

Their intelligence will not allow them to believe in the stupidity found in their books in the 21st century. I would say that Twelver Shiaism is itself a sort of Atheism, even if we do not consider what is said about the superpowers of their "Imams". The reason is that it espouses a Mu'tazili-like doctrine where the human being himself is the real creator of his actions. And this is nothing but pure Tashbih between the creator and the craetion by claiming there to be multiple "gods" as well as Ta'teel by denying that there exists one Supreme Divine Beings who creates everything- the very definition of Atheism. |

Their intelligence will not allow them to believe in the stupidity found in their books in the 21st century. What is happening that historically some of them decided that they are the chosen people of Islam (and hence of God). This is, to begin with, a simple modification. But Allah ![]() Suppose you make a deviation of one degree from the straight path (for the sake of argument only we are taking it as a geometrical line) then after traveling one kilometer you are more than seventeen meters away from the straight path. Same has happened to these people. After traveling on the wrong path for long enough they have ended up in utter denial - kufr. For those of them who are listening the trick is to nip the trouble in the bud. Kill the deception where it originated. Give up the notion that you are chosen and superior. This is a difficult proposition but the stakes are high enough. In fact the stakes are the highest. Hope they are listening. |
