What kind of ex-atheist? A proper ex-atheist who was into all the philisophical mumbojumbo and out right against religion. Or, the type that didn't know anything about religion (Or knew but were non-practicing) and so did not believe in God by default?

I take it you three were ex-atheists?

Am talking about the usual anti-Religion Atheists, the kind that believes that religions were made to control people and that you only believe in God when you see him.

Nah, I was never an atheist. I thought I'd ask to help you find the specific type of atheist you were looking for. I didn't think you'd be interested in the type of atheist that was atheist due to little religious education or lack of knowledge. I think this type of ex-atheist is not too hard to find. However, the type of ex-atheist you're looking for, they are a rarer type to find.

I know an Iranian Atheist and she says that the world could be created from a particle explosion or something, she says she does not believe in God because she didn't see him on the other hand she believes in JINN because she had an experience with one haha : p

They're really boring people.

Maybe you can try challenging the philosophical foundation of their world-view. Hamza Tzortzis (or however you spell his name) has some good stuff on that.

What created the particle explosion?

By the way, I don't think she's ever seen a black hole. Does she believe in those?

Assalamu Aleikum,

One thing I noted, is that most Iranians go astray as soon as they come to the west.
I always wondered why....

I always find people who say such things hilarious. Of course you can't see or hear Allah! Allah exists outside of time and space, so of course no one would be able to scientifically prove Allah exists because science is only capable of proving something that which exists within space/time.

It merely seems that way because most of the people that emigrated out of Iran were the hardcore communists and secularists. That's not to say all Iranians in the west are atheists-- a lot are though, and quite frankly I find most of them to be very annoying. Too much hair gel, gaudy jewelry, and arrogance. Then again, I generally dislike any person who goes around in acid washed jeans and tight shirts.

Not necessarily going to the West either. Some Iranians here in Kuala Lumpur really go Western, I've seen them in mini dresses with bare shoulders and skirts above the knee and bleached hair going to a Persian music concert (it was in the same venue as a job fair I was attending).

Not the image of Iran I grew up hearing about...

One Iranian told me how he and his friends went out and some drank beer... but I wonder if he actually meant "Barbican" non-alcoholic drink.

Actually I used to live in UAE and it's fully loaded with Iranians, most of them are Atheists or thugs and you rarely find any religious ones... it's like they go loose if they step outside their borders... Based on my research I am quite convinced that Shiism is a very fertile ground for Atheists.
