And could you please tell what is the reason behind it for keeping this name as a title for our Beloved Prophet(SAW)? |

Well, far as I know, Tihama refers to the lowlands of the Hijaz. Since, the Prophet was HIjazi, he could be called Tihami also. It is definitely a title used for the Prophet and I don't think that there is anything wrong in keeping it as a name. Ahnaf and Tihami can also be combined, although if you insist on doing so, the best name would be Muhammad Tihami. |

definitely and unusual name Thank Your Sister.... Now the only problem is by the time I could inform her about it,,,my aunt shortened the name to TIHAM. And she had to confirm it in the hospital immediately were her baby was born(As its the rule in that country -__-) She didn't have enough time..By the time I told her that you can't shorten the name,it was too late She told she will try to request them to fix the name. But she isn't sure about it.And she wasn't aware that names as such can't be shortened. And I searched everywhere around the internet to find whether the name TIHAM exists or not.Unfortunately I didn't find any name called TIHAM. I found the name TIHAMI.... Anyways, I have another request..Could someone please suggest me some SAHABA's name(full name),,,whose names has got the name Sa'eed????I know one. That is Saeed Ibn Zayd....any other names???? |

By the way while writing the name in general(like in schools so on),,,are we suppose to put this " ' " between the letter a & e(for Sa'eed)?? ***I know its a silly question sorry for that.....because individually people remove the apostrophe* ' * while writing on passports or other places *** |

I think the apostrophe is just to indicate the arabic letter 'ain' for proper pronounciation. It won't be necessary in the official documents. I also doubt if they will allow apostrophe in official documents. |
