Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

I know a brother who has left the fold of Islam and has been worshipping Satan. He has been a non-Muslim for two years and seems to be really really confused about Islam. We (me and a few friends) have spent weeks talking to him about Islam and how the Quran is the word of God and how Islam is the only true Religion however everything we say he rejects and makes a counter argument.

He has said some disrespectful things about Islam which I won't state as they are to disrespectful to say which is really annoying. He doesn't believe that this life is a test and he thinks that what we see as Allah testing us (e.g. family problems, cancer etc etc) isn't a test and Allah is just being evil. Another thing he says is why are Muslims only allowed in heaven? We explained to him that a non-Muslim can not enter heaven as they never had faith in Allah and rejected the one true religion. But he thinks Allah is a cruel person and isn't Ar-Raheem, the all merciful as he isn't letting the non-Muslims into heaven. He is also being very stubborn and ignorant and rejecting anything and everything we say :/ He rejects Allah's other creation of the Jinn kind and dismisses any videos of them. Despite us giving our real life experiences. He thinks Allah hates us and is punishing us because he had a bad problem which he wont tell us about. I explained to him that I had very bad life but never once questioned the legitimacy of Allah or rejected Islam and because I had faith in Allah, I am where I am today. He however is accepting the satan and says the Satan helped him with his problems. He said he sued to be practising but then found the Satan was helping him with his problems and he literally said "Though u have to admit that the devil can give more than Allah ever can, even if u hate the devil ( which I see no reason)" and "The Devil and God are almost the same thing, only difference is that the devil can give, as God takes only, so the devil is stronger"

A few questions he posed to us are:
- Why did Allah create Humans
- He made a mistake creating us

But moving on more importantly he is worshipping the devil. He did something like a ritual burning Bibles as apparently the Bible burning pleases the satan the most??? Also he said his mother does rituals aswell and he sees old ladies with twisted feet, floating hands, figures without faces and stuff like that. He said they are trying to get ot the Quran by writing fake pages and putting them in and apparently there is a specific desgin on many Qurans that associate with Satan and this design acts as a portal for satan :/ we think he is possesed but we also think he's trying to take us as vulnerables away from Allah's protection but we aren't stupid enoguh to leave out lord like that.But I'm reallllyyy scared now

It seems he may well be possessed. I recently read a book about stuff like possession and magic and that sort of stuff, it was written by a Muslim exorcist who gave many many personal experiences. Brother, it's truly *amazing* how much power one Ayat al-Kursi can have.
Recite it daily, properly with iman and faith on Allah. Maybe recite it that near him.
Whatever you do, remember that keeping your own Iman intact is more important for you, give him da'wah with only the intention of pleasing Allah and keeping in mind that guidance is with Him alone. If Allah guides someone, nobody can misguide him, and if Allah decides that guidance isnt in store for someone, no one can guide him. Just do your part and cry and beg Allah, for results are in his hand alone. Du'a is our weapon!!
It seems maybe that he is commpletely confused about life, and doesn't recognise his Creator. In the Qur'an, Allah repeatedly calls on athiest-type people to ponder and contemplate on the creation of Allah. It makes a person understand his weakness and purpose, and is what makes you understand the power and independance of Allah and man's dependance on Him. I hope you get what I mean, think about it. Try to get this friend of yours to think that way, if shaytan has got to him in this way, it's probable that he is full of himself and acts arrogant, so pondering a bit this way may help.

But do it wisely, think over the proper approach and consult you friends to do it properly. Just remember your iman is more important for yourself.

I'm sure he must be possessed or just very stupid. He seems to be seeing jinn regularly and his mother does 'rituals'... she sounds like a magician to me. Hence, always read Ayat Ul Kursi in his presence, to safeguard yourself from any effects of magic, and the last two Surah's of Quran will also help

Do not under any circumstances underestimate the power of Ayat Ul Kursi and perhaps someone can help you find an aamil and/or shaykh to help you further with this problem

if he believes in the devil (who was created by Allah), then he must believe in Allah (who was the creator of the devil). if he wishes to forsake the worship of the creator in favour of worshipping the creation then he is a fool and defies sense and logic.

if you have already done your duty as a muslim and invited him back to the deen then leave it in the hands of Allah. it is Allah who guides, not us. just stay away from him and protect your own iman.
