Brother,

ask yourself what words is it that you arereciting in the iqaamah? You are proclaiming the glory and majesty of Rabbul 'Aalameen, You are calling towards salat, which is the pillar of Islam, You are preparing for a few intimate moments with Allah ta'aala, do u now see why it is totally inappropriate. No offense at all, naseehah only as u requested.

Put it this way, would we dare to talk to our local MP whilst putting on a jacket? Then how can we do that with Allah ta'aala.

May Allah ta'aala reward u for seeking the path of knowledge and rectification, ameen.
