Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah,
"Actions are only according to intentions, and to each only what he intended. Whoever emigrates towards God and His Messenger, his emigration is towards God and His Messenger; whoever emigrates for the attainment of a worldly goal or in order to marry a woman, then his emigration is only towards what he emigrated to." [Bukhari and Muslim] I am due to give 15 of my friends a treat at a well known restaurant in Dhaka. This happens every time I come to Bangladesh on holiday. However, this year, I am stepping it up a bit as I got a nice salary rise at work Alhamdulillah. Nonetheless, part of me is feeling quite guilty as it is quite an expensive place. With the correct intentions inshaAllah, it will be something that will not attract Allah's displeasure. Could you help me form such intentions? Any relevant ahadith/athaar will be much appreciated. [NB: All friends are Muslim. The food's halaal ] |

This should help In another narration from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar (radi Allahu anhu) that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam): “What is the best thing in Islam?” He said, “Feeding others and giving the greeting of salaam to those whom you know and those whom you do not know.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari and Muslim) Ibn Rajab (may Allah have mercy upon him) said in al-Fath (1/43): “The Hadith (mentioned above) makes the connection between feeding others and spreading salaam because this combines good actions in both word and deed, which is perfect good treatment (ihsaan). Indeed, this is the best thing that you can do in Islam after the obligatory duties.” And Allah knows best! |
