Yes, this book is very beneficial. It has many stories regarding the differences that arose between the Salaf.

A large section of the book is about differences between Deobandi Ulamaa, in particular, the difference of opinion between Maulana Sayyad Husain Ahmad Madni and Hakimul Ummah Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanwi

Does anyone have any more posts allied to Ahmed Ridah Khan Rahimahu Allahs position and maybe altering it in later life? I know that the fatwah, which was unanimously agreed upon by the Ulema of the Hijaaz was agreed then. But he only had the information at hand to judge from, so there is no blame on him. Afterwards it seems some of the Ulema restracted it, as the deoband alims clarified their position, but i havent seen this so pls if anyone has it let me know

i.e> My opinion is that there was genuine kaffirs in the midst of these two great scholars (of Barielly and Deoband) and they were the cause of this fitnah. whispering and writing down bad things, to make the other pass judgement in a fatwah of some sorts.

Do you think this is all romance and far feteched. No. In oxford and cambridge they call it:

Divide & Rule - Hint brothers: it worked.

The khanzeer british empire and imperliasts all were many enemies of the Hanafi Ulema of the Moghuls, which they had to split at all costs - to prevent the form of another Caliphate.

Slightly more to the west, they were busy with the same tactic to use against the Turks and the Najdi Arabs, namely rebellion against the last remaining khilafa. Again, called in education curriculum taught in Western schools.

Divide & Rule - if anyone has any later fatwahs of Ahmed Rida Khan(ra) i would be very interested to see them, we have quite a bit from Moulana Ashraf Ali Thanwi- Rahmatullahi alayhi.

saalamAlaikum
What an excellent thread! I wanted to post some stories of Sheikh Bin Baaz. To clarify, I dont follow his ruling but respect and admire Sheikh Bin Baaz.

STORY #1
Concerning the Imaam, the Shaykh - 'Abdul-'Azeez ibn Baaz (rahima-hullaah), ‘Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Muhammad al-Baddaah narrates:

“It was narrated that the Shaykh (Ibn Baaz) differed (in opinion) with one of the Shaykhs from outside Saudi Arabia regarding a few issues.

It then occurred that this (non-Saudi) Shaykh came to Saudi Arabia and the Shaykh (Ibn Baaz) invited him for lunch to his house and honoured him. Amongst the gathering were some students, who (turned and) said to the Shaykh (Ibn Baaz):

“This is so-and-so who said such-and-such about you”, (at which) the Shaykh (Ibn Baaz) silenced them.

He (then) continued to honour his guest, and at the end of the gathering, the Shaykh (Ibn Baaz) escorted him to the (front) door to bid him farewell. (It was) then the (non-Saudi) Shaykh said:

“If it was said to me that there is someone on the face of this earth who is from the pious predecessors, certainly I would have said it is this man (i.e. Shaykh Ibn Baaz)”, rahimahumullaah.”

STORY #2
Concerning the Imaam, the Shaykh - 'Abdul-'Azeez ibn Baaz (rahima-hullaah), Doctor Naasir ibn Misfir az-Zahraanee narrates:

“Whenever it was mentioned to the Shaykh about those from the scholars who had passed away, especially those who were from amongst his close friends and scholars, he would be deeply affected. He would pray for them a lot, and even cry and become choked by the news.

One day he spoke about his Shaykh, al-‘Allaamah Muhammad ibn Ibraaheem (rahima-hullaah), but was unable to hold himself back from crying. I would sit beside him many times, whilst his assistant would read to us the fataawa of Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ibraaheem (rahima-hullaah), and in some instances Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ibraaheem (rahima-hullaah) would REFUTE Shaykh Ibn Baaz himself, at which the Shaykh would smile and pray for him and ask Allaah to have mercy upon him.”

STORY #3
Concerning the Imaam, the Shaykh - 'Abdul-'Azeez ibn Baaz (rahima-hullaah), Doctor Naasir ibn Misfir az-Zahraanee narrates:

“Some students of knowledge came to the Shaykh complaining about a particular person. They explained his mistakes and some of the errors he has. So the Shaykh asked his assistant to begin taking notes so he could reprimand and advise this particular person.

Whilst the assistant was taking notes, one of the students added: “O Shaykh, he (even) speaks about you and slanders you”.

At that moment, the Shaykh asked his assistant to stop taking notes, as he feared it may be said that the Shaykh sought revenge for himself.”

Assalaamu'alaikum,

Brothers, I am a Barelwi (although not a Rezvi) who believes in istigatha, nooraniat of Rasool-e-kareem (Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam), mawlid as-shareef, qiyaam etc but I place the akabir Ulama of Deoband i.e. Hazrat Aqdas Qasim Nanotwi saheb, Hazrat Gongohi saheb, Hazrat Thanwi saheb, Hazrat Sheikhul Hind, Hazrat Madani saheb etc miles above my head, as do i the Ulama of Barelwi i.e. Ala Hazrat, Mufti Ahmad Yaur Khan saheb, Mufti Amjad Ali Azmi saheb etc. I have so much love for Alahazrat and Hazrat Thanwi saheb that it is possible for me to drown in it. I cannot, in my entire life, be able to explain in words the immense heart-warming love that I feel for both these awliya allah (as I do for the others too). The thirst of my heart is most satisfied by a thread like this wherein such statements of love are expressed from the Ulama of Deoband towards barelwi Shareef. I believe that, although there are extremists on both sides of the court, there is so much more in common between us than what is different. It is unlike the creed of the salafis, jamaaties etc who are totally misguided. The differences between the deobandies and barelwies is a healthy one that can be (and should) be (even slightly) accepted on both sides as both have had outstanding Ulama in the past. Mistakes may have been made, but they are based on incorrect information and can be ignored. I would love it if you would continue to post these amazing stories and also if you could find something similar from the barelwi side. It would be even better if you have an online english version of the book.

Unlike the extremists, my murshid, Shamsul Ulama, Qutbul Alam, Ustadul Ulama, Hazrat Maulana Abdul Latif Choudhury Fultoli saheb (Rahmatullahi 'alay), who needs no introduction to the bengali community, was a true reminiscent of the salaf-us-Saliheen and celebrated the positiveness of both sides, respecting unequivically the Ulama of both sides. May Allah (Subahanahu wata'ala) send more murshids like him and unite the Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah into acknowledging that there is not only one correct path but there can be slight, healthy differences within certain boundaries. Certainly, awliyah allah such as Thanwi saheb and to a certain degree Alahazrat need to be repected alot more and abused less and their followers need to follow their examples.

May Allah ('Azzawajall) grant you the tawfeeq to continue this marvellous that you have begun. Ameen
