It is pretty evident that
1. None of the the 4 schools of jurisprudence prefer to place hands on chest during qiyam. 2. All of the 4 schools of jurisprudence prefer to place hands below chest during qiyam. 3. Hanfis and Hanbalis prefer to place hands below naval during qiyam. 4. Shaf'is prefer to place hands above naval during qiyam. 5. Malikis prefer to keep hands unfolded during qiyam. 6. Only Ghair Muqalideen place hands on chest during qiyam. I got to this conclusion on the basis of evidence provided by brothers in this thread. Whereas, I cannot accept someones personal thinking who seems to have a personal dislike for Hanafis only. |

As for those who feel that only Hanfis place hands below naval in Qiyam.
"Al-Sheikh Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab" says in his book "Kitab Adaab Al-Mashi Ila As-Salat" After Takbeer-e-Ula ثم يقبض كوعه الآيسر بكفه الآيمن ويجعلها تحت سرته ومعناه ذل بين يدي ربه عزوجل Translation :"Then he should grasp his left wrist with right hand and place it under the naval so as to show humilaition in front of Lord Almighty." |
