I, once had a privlillage to meet dr.israr and talk to him, briefly. I asked him "I've heard that Maududi sahib has attacked Hadhrat Mu'awiyah in some of his boks, is it correct?" (i knew he did so, but i just shaped the question in this manner). He replied in affirmitive and called his crticisim as "un appropriate" and showed his diapproval of the latter.
