Yes, mashaAllah, a very good initiative. An other option would perhaps be that a number of questions are selected beforehand from a topic or a different account.

MashAllah, this is a great idea. If the plans go ahead, I think it would be a good idea to let outsiders (i.e people not registered on SF) to also listen and benefit from Mufti Saheb as many people don't register for SF but read its content often.

To avoid any outsiders causing trouble you can stop them from participating and asking questions to Mufti Saheb.

Assalaamun 'Alaykum,

I have some advice to offer. We can make a thread about who's turn will it be to ask a question and 3-5 people per session. And maybe knowledgable brothers from SunniForum may be asked Shura as to what topic shall the Mufti [rahimahullaah] talk about.

Great idea, and may Allah reward Mufti Desai and those who are assisting him in this great effort, and make it successful.

Just a suggestion, would it be possible to have someone transcribe the lectures afterwards? I think that would benefit those who miss the live session more than recordings.

its a great idea.

Regarding the Q&A, I would propose that whenever a topic has been chosen by Mufti saheb, a sticky thread is created on SF one or two weeks before, so that all members can post their questions in there. Thereafter, some moderator can sift through it and prepare a list of questions which is given to Mufti saheb beforehand. This process will have the benefit of having clear and concise questions to be answered, irrelevant ones will be discarded, and duplication will not occur, among others. And due to the fact that the questions are known beforehand, it will speed up the Q&A session and more time will be available for Mufti Saheb to deal with each and every question, and go in much details if required. In my weak opinion this should be the ideal way of going forward.

That's a genius idea. I'm for it, too. This must be from the barakah of Mashurah.

I also like this idea . Also, instead of a sticky thread a sub-forum in the general section would be good if this is going to be consistent

SubhanAllah this is one of the most positive productive outcomes to come out of sunniforum. I pray Ameen Thuma Ameen that this is the beginning of something beautiful and progressive.

- Question? I assume the content will be available for recording? Are we OK to publicise to others who are non-members? if so will they need to register?

JazakAllah

SF has the capability and the required persons to come up with loads of such productive outcomes. Some suggestions of those are:

1. A weekly Hadith dars with one of our Shakhul Hadith of SF. Again a weekly thread created where members put down the hadiths they want to be examined and explained. At the end, the Shaykhul Hadith will pick one or two of those and go through them in details. A live session is not required, a podcast will do the trick.

2. A weekly fiqhi Q&A session with one of our Muftis. A weekly thread created where members will post their questions. The muftis will chose one or two which needs immediate response and will provide the answer.

3. A weekly tajweed class with one of our Hafiz/Qari brother through podcast where 5 Ayyah of the Quran are selected and the proper tajweed lesson is provided. It could start with Surah Fatiha and go all the way till Surah Naas

Maybe some other brothers can contribute to that list.
